What is Artificial Intelligence?

AI is simply the intelligence and brilliancy displayed by machine. Unlike the human brain which capabilities is yet to be fully discovered, AI is bound to limited codes and functions. But like the human brain, it is constantly evolving and growing.
Alan Turing worked on code-breaking messages from Germans during the second world war. This work helped to shape machine language and become groundbreaking in computer science.
Turing explored and experimented with the idea that machine can think for themselves and apply knowledge beyond initial computation. This fundamental idea coupled with machine language for problem solving led to many breakthrough in the field research.
In the 1950s, Marvin Minsky and John McCarthy realized the potentials of this idea and fueled their research on Turing’s work leading to it’s widespread growth.
However, the field now recognized as AI had its foundation laid down in the Dartmouth College, USA workshop in the year 1956. Many of those in attendance of that workshop became recognized as Artificial Intelligence innovators in coming years.
The Turing Test is still used to gauge the success and progress of Artificial Intelligence projects and development. Though, in its updated form, it is a testimony of Turing’s ground-breaking work.
How Does AI Actually Work?
Large amounts of data is needed for the successful creation of AI models. This data is then applied as insights, knowledge and patterns. The purpose is to build and create upon it and apply the results to unfamiliar and new projects.
AI comes in different forms, simple tools like customer services applications ChatBot to complex systems for big organizations. Artificial Intelligence is large and consist of technologies like:
