Webcam Model Earnings Truth ($20k per Month Still Possible?)
Surprising facts about cam girl earnings in 2025
Wow, there's really a TON of misinformation out there about how much webcam models earn while camming, versus how much they earn on platforms like OnlyFans. A lot of people seem to be under very serious delusions, so I'm going to correct the record in this post.
Look, I'm not to trying to cause drama, but if you're reading this, you probably heard a certain well known cam girl going off on how shitty earnings are these days (as of 2025) for cam models, and I have to admit, I've never heard such a buttload of bull in my life.
I just want to make it clear before I bring some major facts into this that I've been a webcam model, earning a terrific living for like 8 years now, so I know quite well what I'm talking about. There are plenty of cam girls that earn more than me, and plenty more that earn less, but I do fairly well.
The Truth About Webcam Model Earnings in 2025
Okay, so the claim was made that, these days, a cam girl or webcam model of any gender can't make much more than rent money from camming.
The claim was also made that there are no good cam sites out there anymore where cam girls are able to establish a real business with steady income derived from steady regulars.
Both of these claims are absolutely nonsensical and ridiculous, and I will explain why.
First of all, where the fluffy fuck is this person camming, because where I cam, there are MANY girls making well over $20,000 per month. Yeah, it IS true that many cam sites suck as much as suck can suck, but no, the smart webcam models don't actually cam on those sites.
Yes, it IS true that most cam sites have lost a lot of traffic since the rise of OnlyFans and are virtually impossible to make decent money on, but NO, the high quality cam sites have not lost any significant amount of traffic and are going gangbusters.
Obviously, if you're a smart cam girl or guy, you cam there, not on the shit sites.
Oh, this person also said that the days of becoming a millionaire as a webcam model are long gone. OMG, give me patience, JFC.
While it IS technically true that it may be a little more difficult to become a millionaire from ONLY CAMMING, webcam models who have a brain sloshing around in their skulls don't generally only work cam sites, if they have becoming a millionaire as a goal.
OnlyFans is the platform where you can become a millionaire webcam model. And yes, most webcam models have an OnlyFans too and feed their regulars into it, which is honestly one of the most effective ways to make HUGE money in this business.
This is why I get so annoyed, because people who make these claims act like camming is the only way to make money as an adult model on the internet.
I see camming as the FOUNDATION of your money tree. It's the "top of the sales funnel" where you suck in lots of casual fans and start really bonding and turning them into devoted regulars.
Only cam sites allow you to get so close to spending members like that, because the intimacy of private shows is primarily where these bonds get built. Once you've got real regulars, the obvious next step is to send them off to your OnlyFans where more money can be made.
So yes, you can generally make more money as a webcam model on OnlyFans than you can on cam sites, but what people forget is that OnlyFans DOES NOT give you any traffic/viewers, so you either have to promote yourself some other way, or you're SOL.
Cam sites allow you to develop these regulars easily because THEY HAVE PLENTY OF TRAFFIC. Or at least the high quality ones do. That's why you start there!
How To Increase Your Cam Girl Earnings
I get a lot of questions from newbie cam girls who want to know how to break through that $20k per month barrier, because most of them just can't seem to even get close.
Well, the first thing I ask them is, "Where do you cam?"
The cam site you're using is going to determine your earnings and income potential from the start. Like I said earlier, most cam sites just don't have enough QUALITY TRAFFIC. That means that you can cam there until you're blue in the face and dehydrated, you won't make much money.
If you want to increase your cam girl earnings, you need to use a high-traffic cam site that is flooded with viewers from first world countries (rich countries). Can anyone guess why lol?
The most obvious option for new or struggling webcam models is CHATURBATE. Why? Because they have more high-value traffic than they know what to do with. Mostly US, Canada, UK, and Australia.
What does this mean for you if you're a cam girl looking to make REAL money? It means you have a fighting chance there because you will be able to get in front of a lot of eyeballs that actually have significant amounts of money to spend.
Chaturbate enables you to achieve very serious earnings, and very few other cam sites do right now, to be perfectly honest. That part is definitely true, most cam sites suck now.
My Earnings Tips For Webcam Models
If you listen to me here, your earnings will go up. First thing's first, though. If you don't have a Chaturbate broadcaster account yet, sign up for yours here. Do it now, it can take a few days to get approved.

Secondly, if you don't know this part yet, you really need to learn it and let it sink deep into your bones. YOU WILL NOT MAKE MONEY in the very beginning. But that's okay, NOBODY DOES.
Well, I mean, maybe 97% of us didn't. It took me something like 5 sessions to get my first tip, and it was like 2 dollars worth of tokens. But honestly, if I had quit at that point, it would have been the WORST MISTAKE of my life.
I know where I'd be right now, too. I'd still be at the cafe where I used to work, serving lattes and egg sandwiches while my back was killing me and I wanted nothing more than a massage and a few minutes off my feet.
That life SUCKED, and the only reason I was able to leave it in the past is because I stuck with camming.
When you're a newbie on any cam site, nobody will tip you in the first few sessions because nobody knows you from a hole in the ground. People need to feel familiarity and comfort with you before spending money. You achieve this by continuing to stream regularly.
I'm serious, go on, day in and day out, and cam your butt off. Show up, talk up your viewers, bond with people. Just be yourself and viewers will start to really get warm to you. Once they're warm, they start tipping. Believe me, I know the process.
YOU MUST NOT QUIT!
After a week, or two, or maybe five, you will see that you have a bunch of actual REGULARS, which means you've got a crew of spending members who like you a lot and actually tip you regularly. You will be making money, your earnings will travel north rather dramatically.
My Bottom Line
Okay, so to sum up my opinion on this whole cam girl earnings issue, if you're just camming, you're probably not going to become a millionaire, that's true. But you can still make crazy monthly incomes, that's for damn sure.
If you're smart, you'll develop your regulars on your cam site, then feed them over to your OnlyFans, where they will subscribe, buy tons of content, tip you, and all that awesome jazz. You'll probably make more money on your OnlyFans if you do this right.
But you need to start by CAMMING because that's how you turn casual viewers into devoted fans.
Webcam models need to understand that great monthly earnings in this business come from regulars who adore you and want to support you, no matter what. That's what creates those huge incomes people read about.
