car accident leads to an unexpected revelation

heavenly gets in a major car accident which sends her into a coma. jason finds out because pastor tells jason on sunday and jason does his best to hold it in however he ends up going to the altar finally breaking down for the first time since this all began. the church knew that jason cared a lot and why he came here in the first place but jason was always the guy that found a way to smile and make them happy however now they're looking at him lose it at the altar. dennis puts his shoulder on jasons shoulder as he speaks a prayer, and afterwards as jason catches himself and the service goes on with jason doing his church duties dennis sits down realizing something he didn't expect. he always thought jason story with heavenly would end without a happy ending but hes gotten the realization that jason is more of a real one then he thought and more then heavenly would think.

jason keeps it together until hes home and he takes a breath in his room but then jason sees one of his bibles on the shelf. jason breaks down again when he immedity looks at it and then in a moment of anger he starts throwing stuff all around his room leading troy and kassidy to burst into his room to see whats wrong. they go in all mad but they stop when they see jason broken down and they're for a lost when jason explains what happened. they might never have met hananh but they know the impact that shes had on jason and they have heard jason say probably 1000 times in the last few years that he wants redemption and a second chance. kassidy said she'll never hug jason but she hugs him for a feel good moment. troy looks at his biggest rival show a emotion that jason hadn't shown as much as he could and he realizes that how long jason had been holding it all in and that jason mistakes and setbacks over the years wasn't him being dumb and selfish but its because he deseperate to earn the thing hes never had- a real family.

the next morning jason stands in hananhs hosptail room. jason stands over her bed. he always wanted the talk but he never wanted it like this. after being scared to speak for a few minutes jason gets some stuff off his chest. he explains that he wish he could go back in time and undo his mistakes with her but he goes on that he became the man that he is today because of her walking away due to jason crossing those boundiares accidently. jason tells her that he feels responsible for her leaving the church and that even though he steped up at the church its still her home and not his. he acknowledges that shes up there with her dad talking but jason wants to be able to speak waht he just said to her directly one day and have the chance to ask for her forgiveness so he knows how it sounds but he wants her to leave her dad and come back to the world....come back to him.

as jason goes to leave he turns around to see heavenly mom walking in. she asks him if they are freinds but jason takes a deep breath before he reveals no they are freinds, mayve in another timeline but in this one he messed up accidently and ruined any chance of earning that title in her life nowdays the title he holds is a guy that she hates. he then exits the room and gets a few steps down the hall but as she stands at the door hananh mom says that heavenly doesn't hate you jason. jason stops immeditly in his step realizing that he never told her his name. he looks back at her with a pale face expressing his confusion for that statement. she convinces him to come back and sit next to her. he keeps his head down as she states that heavenly had guys buying her flowers, gifts and a whole lot more to get her to fall for them but what she truly wanted was someone to show up at church and jason did. she countines stating that dennis stoped by the other day and he spoke about how church is going and he meantioned jason would probably be up here when he finds out what happened, her mom asked dennis who was jason since heavenly never directly talked about jason and dennis had told her all about jason just trying to do right by her daughter but making every mistake he could on accident. she then points out a stand in the corner by the bed thats hung with pictures, flowers and notes, she explains she didn't want her daughter to be here alone so she created a arragnemtn filled with friend and family memories and thoughts. she countines that jason thought she hated him but states that she found this in her daughter room. she reveals a small stack of letters and she gives them to jason. its quickly revealed to be the same letters that jason wrote for heavenly all those years ago, jason expected that she threw them away however heavenly actually kept them hidden. jason is clearly confused because his whole redemption story was based off he making what he thought was the biggest mistake of his life by wrting those letters.

heavenly mom sees jasons staring off into the distance, everything he was concinved about how heavenly felt about him in the last decade was wrong and he's at a lost for the questions he has. she gets up and stands next to her daughter she grabs her daughters hand as she tells her that i know he wants you to stay up there. Still, it looks like theres another man that needs you. she convinces jason to come over to the bed. She'll pray over the times their in. she holds her daughter hand and takes jasons hand catching jason off guard and its clear that jason is suspsosed to grab heavenlys hand to complete the circle but he just cant get himself to since as much as his heart wants to his mind is still telling him he's not worthy. jason can barely say i cant, i just cant- with his voice trembling seriously. just as heavenlys mom is about to say something in response of that, a voice from behind the two of them says "its ok mom i'll hold her hand." its heavenlys brother who they didn't know had been standing at the door for the last few minutes. he walks over to stand in the middle of jason and his sister as he takes her hand and then looks at jason and he takes his hand. jason hasn't even taken his eyes off heavenly since her brother came in. her brother says that "its ok, she'll be ok and we'll get thru this together as a family (and then he looks at jason) because thats what we are a family.
