"Tracy!" Nick called, knocking on the bedroom door.

"What do you want?" Tracy asked crossly.

"I just want to talk to you for a minute," said Nick. Tracy opened the door long enough for him to come inside and then closed it. "Look, I know you're really disappointed that Colin likes Jana instead of you, but cheer up! There's plenty of fish in the ocean," said Nick.

"Yeah, but none of them are biting my hook," Tracy complained. "Ever since I lost Ray, I haven't even had a date!" Her boyfriend, Ray Matthews, had been killed in a car crash several months previously. After an appropriate period of mourning, she'd attempted to enter the dating scene again, but had had no luck so far.

"Just give it some time," Nick told her. "I'm sure the right man will come along soon."

In the meantime, Colin was bidding Jana good-bye. "I guess I should be heading back to my own flat now," he said. "I really enjoyed visiting with you, Jana." As he took her hand and gazed into her eyes, she felt an electric thrill go through her body.

"I really enjoyed visiting with you too," she replied. "I hope we can do it again soon."

"Next time, I'm going to take you on a proper date." Colin's eyes looked dreamy. "If we were in London, I'd take you out to Burger and Lobster in Soho." He smiled a little sadly. "Since we're not, I'm afraid we'll have to settle for the Water Grill."

"I love the Water Grill!" Jana exclaimed.

"Is it a date, then? Friday night at seven?"

"Sounds great!"

Colin gently pressed his lips against the back of Jana's hand as he bid her good-bye. "I'll never wash this hand again!" she exclaimed after he'd left. Floating on clouds, she almost completely failed to notice the dejected look on Tracy's face as the two of them went to bed that night.

For several days, it was almost as if Jana was in another world. Colin was constantly in her thoughts, so much so that she hardly even spoke to Nick and Tracy anymore, except for necessary discussions concerning household matters.

On Wednesday of the following week, Nick came home from work to find Tracy crying. "Hey, what's wrong?" he asked her.

"I feel like I've completely lost Jana to Colin!" the blonde wailed. "Ever since they got together, it's been like I don't even exist for her anymore!"

"I know," Nick replied. "I feel the same way. Let's just hope she comes back down to earth soon."

"Don't get me wrong," Tracy said quickly. "I'm happy for her that she's found someone, but I miss the way things used to be between the three of us."

"I'm sure things will eventually get back to normal," Nick replied. "We just have to get used to one of us being in a relationship now."

Colin showed up at five till seven Friday night, dressed handsomely in a navy blue suit and carrying a bouquet of pink tulips. "They're lovely!" Jana exclaimed. "Thank you!" Quickly she found a vase for the flowers, and then they were off.

At the restaurant, Colin politely pulled Jana's chair out for her before sitting down himself. Jana looked around at the interior, which was decorated in muted shades of yellow and brown and was very modern looking. "How did you find out about the Water Grill?" she asked.

"The county welcome center had all kinds of brochures about different restaurants and places of entertainment," Colin replied. "I took a guess that you'd like seafood."

"You guessed right!" said Jana. "And that was a brilliant idea to go to the welcome center. I never would have thought of that."

Their food arrived, and as they ate, Colin regaled Jana with stories of growing up in London. "I've always wondered what it would be like to ride in the top of one of those double decker buses," she remarked.

Colin chuckled. "I'll bet you'd love Harrods Department Store," he said. "There are seven floors of merchandise, so you can shop to your heart's content."

"Oh, why'd you have to tell me that?" asked Jana. "Now I want to go so badly!"

Colin laughed. "I'll take you there someday."

Another thrill went through Jana. The thought of going to Europe with Colin not only excited her but terrified her a little.

They were so busy talking that they forgot to eat and the food got cold, but they didn't mind. They asked for a couple of doggy bags and took it all back home with them. "Thank you for a wonderful night," Colin told Jana when they reached her door.

"Thank you," Jana replied. "I haven't enjoyed myself that much in I don't know how long!"

Colin licked his lips nervously. "Well, good night, then." He hesitated for only a moment before his lips lightly brushed hers.
