You Thought I Was Gone
Rick Henry's Haunted Letter Challenge

Dear Susan
I would have knocked on your door, but I thought I would write a letter instead. "Look in your mailbox"!!!
I am no one in particular, just a voice from your past. However, I am just as alive as you are.
Were you expecting me, and who were you expecting?? Let me tell you a little about myself. I worked with you, and I dated you at one time. You were a dynamite in the corporate world, and you worked very hard to get ahead for you and both of your children.
Do you have any idea who I am yet?? I had cancer when I first met you, and I have been gone for several decades now. You were kind, small and dainty when I knew you. I see you made it to your seventies, and you almost died yourself five years ago. I told the powers to be in the "Dimension", as we call it, that we should make a place for you. However, you fooled them all and you fought to live. You always were a spunky little person who wore size three clothes and was one hundred pounds soaking wet. You were a true testament of dynamite comes in small packages.
Do you know who I am yet?
I am watching you read this letter, and your face is turning white with fear, but you don't have to fear me, although you were brutal to me. I see you looking up, and looking around, and the blood is draining from your face.
We have several of your victims here in the "Dimension", they are anxiously awaiting your arrival. They don't let everyone in, you know my pretty, but you were such a good mother to your boys, I guess that gave you the edge.
Do you have enough information now? I will give you one last hint, I drove a black Trans Am- you were afraid of my car, and it had a license plate on it, that said, "You Can".
DO YOU KNOW WHO I AM NOW??
If you don't you surely have dementia.
One last thing, I am waiting on you Susan!! Have a safe trip to the other "Dimension".

So glad to see you do a second one. Thank you!
Thank you for your entry, Susan.
Beautifully done, Susan. congrats
Ooh, I love how the letter started like it was from an old, forgotten friend, but shifted into something intense and threatening with each following line!
When I saw your name on the Top Story list, I literally whooped for joy. Then I read your story and thought of course this got Top Story. You did a fabulous job slowly building the tension and changing the tone from complementary to threatening. Well done! Congratulations!
It sounds like the other Dimension is not entirely a bad thing! but the question is out there
