The taste of bubblegum lip balm lingered on his tongue as they explored the new territory of each other. As they parted he saw his own nervousness reflected in her, a rush of adrenaline and relief coursed through him. He saw the faintest hint of a smile on her lips. They stood there, in awkward silence for a few moments, until she broke it "Wow," she whispered, her voice filled with sincerity. “Yeah, wow,” he echoed, his heart soaring. So that was a kiss.
