[News report - translation]

A man has been rescued from a private residence in [REDACTED] following a disturbing discovery by local authorities.

Officers had returned to the property for a follow-up visit with the homeowner, Ms. [REDACTED].

In a strange turn of events, Ms. [REDACTED] and her husband previously accused each other of assault. Officers attended the property seeking to verify elements of her account, when they reportedly heard sounds of distress coming from inside.

Upon entry, police located an adult male in an upstairs bedroom. The individual was in a severely compromised state. He was found malnourished, dehydrated, and unable to speak. Perhaps most disturbingly, his mouth had been forcibly sutured shut.

Ms. [REDACTED] was not at the property.

The man who was rescued, sources confirm, was not her husband.

The man is now receiving medical care. Police have launched an inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the case. Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Ms [REDACTED] should contact the number on the screen.

Nona looked as carefully put together as always, her dark hair neatly arranged, and her lips matte red.

When she glanced up from her coffee, ice slithered into her belly. It's a bizarre experience, to see yourself on television when you don't expect it. She couldn't understand all of the news report, but she saw the number flashing on the screen next to her own face, and she could well imagine the gist of it.

Gathering every ounce of willpower, Nona remained in her seat, and arranged her face into a relaxed and casual expression. The coffee was bitter on her tongue.

Once the news had slid on to other things, Nona left cash on the table, and left, as calmly as if she were like everyone else. Ordinary. Not the object of a man hunt.

A rather neat part of having a signature look is that it's relatively easy to change your appearance. Take away the elements people recognise and you are practically disguised as yourself.

Nona didn't have much to pack, but she did it in a hurry. The chip she had taken such care to bring with her was hidden inside a locket. The only time she removed it was to get in the shower, and then, probably because of the stress of being, as it were, a wanted man, she forgot to put it on again.

Maybe, in her hurry, she'd forgotten about the locket, and thought the chip still sewn into the lining of her handbag.

She's going to be ever so cross when she finds out.

Oh, Nona, they are closing in on her, aren't they?

  • I soooo want her to be caught! I wonder how the girls and Ronnie are doing.

Hahaha! While I feel for Jac, who is left alone with no idea what is going on, at least he isn't stuck in a toxic relationship with Nona anymore. Even if it was by accident. I wonder if the police will find him before housekeeping decides to dispose of him (I'm assuming she left a hotel). I wonder if police would even be able to charge him...Jac is an AI, but he did take over a person. Can you delete AI if they go that route? Oh, the questions...great chapter L.C.!
