In October’s fading light, memories swirl like fallen leaves,
A street where laughter once danced on crisp air,
We wandered hand in hand, lost in the warmth of each other,
The café's aroma of coffee still haunts me,
As I recall the way you’d smile over steaming mugs,
Whispers shared in the corners, secrets woven in the chill.
The trees, now bare, echo our laughter,
Their golden hues remind me of the warmth we shared,
Each gust of wind carries your voice, soft and tender,
I trace our steps, but the silence feels heavier now.
We carved our initials into that old bench,
A promise of forever, though time had other plans.
The sunsets linger, painting the sky with sorrow,
As I sip my coffee, the taste bittersweet,
October brings a haunting beauty, a reminder of what was,
And in the shadows, I still search for your smile.
