"When You Came Into My Life"

1. The First Meeting

In the busy streets of Mumbai, inside a small coffee shop tucked away in a corner, Aarav sat absorbed in his laptop.

Outside, it was raining — the kind of rain that makes noise but also forces silence.

He had just taken a sip of coffee when the door opened, and a girl walked in…

White kurti, light blue dupatta, raindrops dripping from her hair.

She went to the counter, ordered coffee, and accidentally bumped into Aarav’s table.

"Oh, I’m so sorry!" she said quickly.

Aarav smiled, "It’s okay… looks like the rain pulled you in here too."

She laughed softly, "I’m not sure about the rain, but maybe fate pulled me here."

Her name was Meher.

From that day on, rain wasn’t just weather for Aarav — it became a feeling.

---

2. From Friendship

Over the next few weeks, Meher and Aarav started meeting often in the same coffee shop. Sometimes it was planned, sometimes purely by chance.

Meher worked at an NGO for orphans. Aarav was a graphic designer, buried in his freelance projects.

Their conversations never seemed to end — childhood stories, mischievous college memories, and dreams that were still incomplete.

One day, Meher asked casually,

"Aarav, have you ever truly loved someone?"

Aarav picked up his coffee cup and said softly, "I did… but maybe at the wrong time."

That was all he said, but Meher could tell his heart still carried an old wound.

---

3. The Secret

One evening, Aarav took Meher to Marine Drive. The roar of the sea and the cool breeze wrapped around them as they sat in silence for a while.

Aarav finally spoke:

"Meher, there was a time I loved someone deeply. We were going to get married… but an accident took her away. Since then, I haven’t been able to open up to anyone."

Meher held his hand gently, "Sometimes life takes something from us… only to give it back in another way. Maybe that’s why I’m here."

That night, Aarav felt something he hadn’t in years — maybe Meher was filling the empty space in his heart.

---

4. Realizing Love

Their friendship slowly turned into something deeper. Aarav started helping Meher with her NGO projects, and Meher gave him honest opinions on his designs.

On rainy days, they would share an umbrella, laugh over ice creams, and talk about nothing and everything.

One day, Meher took Aarav to her orphanage.

Seeing him with the children, smiling so freely, warmed her heart.

A little girl named Pari hugged Aarav and said, "You’re Meher didi’s best friend, right?"

Aarav smiled, "Best friend… and maybe a little more."

When Meher looked at him, their eyes said what words could not.

---

5. The Gift

Meher’s birthday was coming up, and Aarav decided to do something special.

He made a handmade photo album — with their first picture at the coffee shop, the night at Marine Drive, the orphanage moments, all captured.

On the last page, he wrote:

"Meher, you’re the part of my story I always wanted to write… Will you be my story?"

On her birthday, when Aarav gave her the gift, Meher’s eyes filled with tears.

"Aarav… I love you."

He smiled, "And I love you."

---

6. The Twist

Everything was perfect… until one day, Aarav got a call from Meher. Her voice was shaking:

"Aarav, I need to see you… right now."

They met at a park. Meher said,

"I have to go abroad… for a special NGO project. For one year. I can’t say no… but how will I stay away from you?"

Aarav held her hand, "Meher, love doesn’t fade with distance. Go follow your dreams… I’ll be right here."

---

7. Distance

One year was long. Video calls, letters, and occasional posts kept them connected.

Aarav kept busy with work, but every time it rained, his heart whispered her name.

Meher, even in the middle of her projects, would write Aarav’s name in her diary before sleeping.

---

8. The Return

A year later, on the first day of the monsoon, Aarav was sitting in the same coffee shop, at the same corner table.

The door opened…

Meher stood there — white kurti, blue dupatta, raindrops dripping from her hair.

"You came back?" Aarav asked softly.

She smiled, "You said you’d be right here."

Aarav pulled her into his arms as the rain sang around them.

---

9. A New Beginning

From that day, their story didn’t just end like a movie — it started a new chapter.

Together, they expanded Meher’s NGO work, and even opened a coffee shop that held free workshops for orphan children.

And whenever it rained… Aarav would feel the same truth echoing in his heart:

"When you came into my life, it felt like life itself had arrived."
