When Aliens Aren’t Aliens

Why Faith Still Stands When the Skies Surprise Us

By Joey Raines

I leaned back in my chair, watching the question hang in the air. Someone had just asked me what would happen if we ever found aliens.

“First off,” I said, “aliens don’t exist. Not the way movies or science fiction shows us. But UFOs? They’re real. They’ve always been real. What people don’t understand is that when something moves across the skies, disappearing and reappearing as if it’s coming from another world, it’s not creatures from another planet. It’s angels. It’s demons. It’s the Watchers. The Bible has spoken of these things long before anyone thought up flying saucers.”

I could see the doubt in their eyes, so I leaned forward. “Think about it. If tomorrow scientists told us they’d discovered what they believe are aliens, religion wouldn’t crumble. Faith wouldn’t disappear. Because what they call aliens are still part of God’s creation. Nothing outside of Him exists. All it would mean is that mankind finally gave another name to what God has already told us about.”

I paused, letting the sound of my words settle.

“So will religion still be around if we ‘find aliens’? Yes. Because the truth doesn’t change just because people change the label. God is still God. His word still stands. And every light in the sky will always answer to Him.”
