Water Before Dawn
✨The siren's microstory✨

I saw fire and I rushed there. Fast.
I tried to save them. I tried to save her.
I've always believed that fire was King; that fire came first. A spectacular apricot sunrise brightens the North Atlantic in spring; igniting the day.
I’ve watched that sunrise since childhood; dreaming of feeling a connection. Lonely, I befriended the clouds that danced near the icebergs.
The dawn was my only friend. Fire was cardinal; at least, for me.
Until 1912. Until that April, when I met her.
Then quickly, I lost her to water, the Queen.
The ocean had outrun the daylight.

"The ocean had outrun the daylight." I love that line. Gorgeous artwork you decided to include.
Always with Your dichotomy of fire and ice, and Your story telling is just as poetic as Your own stories. You cease to amaze me, Gina. I don't know if this is a Titanic reference, or just an alternate universe where a siren/mermaid witnesses the day the sun dies off, or the earth's rotation shifts so much that her ocean no longer sees the sun.
Absolutely beautiful! Such rich imagery in your words, and I love the pictures! Gorgeous all around, Gina! Congrats on top story!
