Black Sugar

“It’s time for your medications, Timothy,” a stern female voice said, giving him a nudge. “Wake up.”

Timothy groaned, pulling the covers tightly over his head. “Go away. I’m not taking that poison.”

The nurse yanked the blanket off him, revealing Timothy restrained to the bed. He squirmed and twisted, trying to break free..

“Give it up,” she said firmly, her tone unrelenting. “You’re not going anywhere. Now, you can make this easy and cooperate, or I’ll have no problem using force.”

Timothy froze for a moment and stared at her intently. His expression shifted, and a sly grin crept across his face. “Man, you’re one foxy chick. Like Diana Ross and Donna Summer rolled into one spicy package. Come here, mama. Gimme some of that black sugar,” he said, puckering his lips and making exaggerated kissing sounds.

Unimpressed, the nurse crossed her arms and leaned in close, her face just inches from his. “Listen up, Romeo,” she snapped. “The only thing you’re getting from me is a dose of reality - and your meds. Now shut your mouth and behave, or I’ll make sure the rest of your day is a whole lot worse.”

She grabbed the tray with his pills, and slammed it on the bedside table. “You wanna play games? Go ahead. But remember, I always win.”

“I’ll take the pills if you put them in my mouth,” Timothy said with a smirk.

“Not happening, I’ve heard about you. You’re a biter. You think you’re slick, but I’m a few steps ahead of you.”

“If you’re gonna play it that way, sister, then I’ll play it that way too. You might as well take those pills back where you got them, because I’m not taking them.”

“Aha, and this is where I’m a few steps ahead of you, little boy.”

Without hesitation, she grabbed a syringe from the tray. Before Timothy could react, she injected the medication into his arm.

The Nightmare

Shortly after the injection, Timothy drifted off to sleep. As he sank into unconsciousness, he heard his mother’s voice, “Timothy, it’s dinner time.”

He opened his eyes and looked around, expecting to see her, but she wasn’t there. Instead, he found himself standing in the kitchen. On the table in front of him was a plate of food.

It looked like some kind of chopped meat casserole. Confused, Timothy raised his brow. “What is this?” he asked aloud.

His mother’s sarcastic voice spoke out again, though she was nowhere to be seen. “Look closer at the plate of food, Timothy.”

Hesitant but compelled, Timothy leaned in to examine the food more closely. At first, it seemed like an ordinary dish. But after a few seconds of staring, the shapes on the plate began to shift. He gasped as his mother’s face formed in the meat, staring back at him.

“It’s my face, Timothy,” her voice eerily echoed through the room. “Go ahead - chew it up and eat my face.”

The grotesque nightmare sent a chill through Timothy’s body, and terror gripped him. His eyes flew open, and he woke up with his heart pounding quickly.

Trembling with desperation, Timothy began to cry out, “Please! Someone help me! Help me! I’m very sick!”

The Nurse

The nurse, Pearl, entered the room again and found Timothy lying on the bed, drenched in sweat and visibly shaken.

“Oh, poor baby,” she said sarcastically as she prepared a stronger dose of his medication. She injected it into his arm, void of any sympathy for him.

After checking his vitals, she noted his blood pressure was slightly elevated at 149 over 82, with a pulse of 98, higher than normal, but nothing alarming.

The medication took effect almost immediately. Within moments, Timothy’s body relaxed, and he slipped back into unconsciousness.

Eek the nightmare and this mother’s face in the meat. The mind is playing lots of tricks on poor Timothy. I’ve reread the last few and found this is where I’m up to now! Looking forward to seeing how it unfolds. 😊

  • Oh wow so the nurse sent him straight back to nightmare land. Great chapter well written. Loved the banter in the opening and the intensity of the nightmare

Very compelling segment; very well-written! I'd like to read more of Timothy's story. I'm anxious to find out how his story relates to BB Fly and if his mom is actually still living. Great job my friend! 💕
