A secret world is hidden in the astral planes. There are legends and tales of this place that has never been found or seen by mortal eyes. Only rare, gifted individuals have visited by practice of projective dream walking. This is the realm of the deities.

For many millennia they have watched the rise and fall of worlds and civilizations. The creation and destruction feel like just moments in their time. When one of these deities creates a new world, they have such high beliefs theirs will be the first world of love and peace. Only to be greatly disappointed when they inevitably meet the same outcome as every other world.

Sindestra, a goddess of radiant beauty and light awakens from a deep, enchanted slumber. She sits up from her bed of sweet-smelling, faintly-glowing flowers. Her long, lustrous locks of iridescent hair fall down her back wrapping around her soft, curved body. Her flawless skin is translucent and shimmers as if she was formed together by stardust. She is a deity of solitude and lives on a small, mystical island where she surrounds herself with only the most majestic plant life and animals.

The dream she awoke from felt more like a calling. It is time for her to set out of her comfort zone to create something much bigger than the safe-haven she currently calls home. In this dream, she had a vision of her own world, dazzling and fantastical. The most beautiful beings created from her mind’s eye. She decided to uproot her island and use it as the blue print to her new world. Her crystal-like eyes beamed out of excitement as her island lifted from the misty sea and became her ship of the sky. Upon this vessel she set out from the realm of deities without a second thought.

What the loving, virtuous goddess was not aware of, is that she was not the only deity on the island. Her brother, Dextronomous, was there spying on her. His envy of her natural power and beauty left him obsessed. Everything he ever accomplished he did soley for renown and recognition. No matter what he accomplished, it was her that was always respected and loved for her kind-hearted nature. He watched her for some time hiding in the form of her most beloved animal, a cat.

The illustrious goddess glided through space and time. She took in every scene and was grateful for all the sights she was able to see. After much time traveling, she came upon a galaxy far-off in the cosmos that felt just right. It was abundant with stars and was balanced by a radiant sun and a luminous moon. This is where she will create her vision. A world of her own. With just the vibrations of love alone beaming from her celestial heart, she grew her floating island into a large sphere. She looked down at her new beautiful world and opened her arms.

“I shall call you Vemadea!”

As she spoke those powerful words, from her hands fell streams of sparkles like snow sprinkling Vemadea’s surface. From the sparkles grew plant life of all kind. All stunning and colorful. Some gave a glow while others had the sweetest, desirable smells. Some grew the most delicious fruits and vegetables to have ever been created. After her enchanted vegetation was grown, Sindestra looked down on her world feeling only but the purest joy. Glimmering tears formed in her diamond-like eyes and rained down on the beautiful Vemadea. Her tears pooled and formed into many different bodies of water. They glimmered in the sunlight and shimmered by the moonlight.

As the remaining tears fell, they connected with beams of sunlight, creating the most magnificent rainbow. When she saw the rainbow, she held onto it and beamed it down to the surface. From the bottom of the rainbow unique types of animals emerged in pairs. Some also flew out into the sky and some dove in the water on the other side. She was most satisfied with her world, her plants and her animals. She floated down to her world and to her bed of flowers. The bed was no longer just a flowerbed on her little island. Now it was a grand garden on this vast planet. The moon and stars filled the skies and the goddess fell into another deep slumber.

The sun ascended from its slumber as did Sindestra, both were equally radiant. This time she had dreamt another vision she knew she had to create for her blissful world, Vemadea. She reached to the top of her head and plucked a single strand of her prismatic hair. She molded the strand into a beautiful woman. She had a close resemblance to the goddess herself, but with only a slight glimmer in her rosy skin and lavender hair. Sindestra approached her creation with open arms and embraced her.

“Welcome Ava.”

For some time, the Goddess and Ava walked the gardens together. Sindestra gave Ava everything she would ever need and Ava was grateful to her creator. Although one day, Ava approached her maker with a new look on her face.

“What is the matter my child?” Sindestra questioned.

“Mother, as I talk amongst the animals, I noticed something.”

“And what was that?”

Ava sat down on the bed of flowers next to the Goddess. The sweet smells and glowing lights surround her.

“Every animal has a mate. Another to call their own. An equal. Someone they love and create families with.”

“Do you wish to have a mate of your own my child?”

“Yes mother, I long for another like me.”

“Very well my dear Ava. It is done.”

With that being said, the Goddess pulled a strand of Ava’s hair and it stretched out tall, and from the top it burst into shimmering lights that fell to the ground and left a man standing there in front of Ava. His skin is violet with short powder blue hair long enough in the front to fall around his emerald eyes as they lock onto Ava’s crystal blue eyes.

The Goddess again filled with pure joy, held onto one of Ava’s hands and one of the man’s.

“Ava, this is Emed and he will be your companion and you, his.”

Ava and Emed spent many days together, enjoying their life upon this new planet. Sindestra was so pleased with the breath-taking world, the vision she had made into reality. The three of them thrived in peace and harmony among their friends, the animals. They ate the most flavorful food and drank the purest water you could imagine.

One night while Ava and Emed were asleep in a tranquil bed of their own soothing-scented flowers, Emed was awaken by a paw on his face. It was a cat, black as the night with glowing green eyes.

“Emed” the cat said, “You must come with me.”

“What is this about cat?” Asked Emed.

“Quiet your voice” The cat hissed back “You must not wake her.”

Emed hesitated, and got up to follow the cat.

“Where are we going, cat?”

“You will see soon enough.”

The cat brought him deep into the garden, a part unfamiliar to Emed. In front of him stood a tree that bore a fruit just as unfamiliar.

“Do you realize you were created last for a reason?” The cat asked.

“It is not something that has ever crossed my mind.” Emed answered

“This is because you are only here to please and serve the woman. There is much power and knowledge Ava and Sindestra hold onto that is forbidden to you, until now. You see this? This is a pear tree. It is even shaped like woman. It holds all the secrets that they know and do not want you to know so they can stay superior. Just one bite will make you just as powerful as them. The cat climbed the tree and knocked a pear off a limb into Emed’s hands. Emed stared at the pear in his hands, conflicted and confused.

“By the way” said the cat, “I used every bit of my own power to show you this tree, so this is your one and only chance to have real power, or forever be the inferior.

At that Emed felt urgency come over him. He bit into the pear and tasted the sweet taste of... of... sin...

He tasted darkness and sorrow and pains he never imagined. He knew the cat lied and now he was burdened by this way of thinking. Now that he was tainted by this darkness, he took the pear and woke his partner to taste this forbidden fruit. She did, blind with love and was also met with the pain, but it hurt her far more. She ran in tears to her mother about everything. Sindestra confused and heartbroken. Why would this happen? She had given her children everything they’d need to live a happy eternity in this world. Emed came clean about the cat and she summoned the cat in front of her with the snap of her fingers.

The cat then transformed into black smoke and then to a the dark, cosmic being. He stood very tall with night-like skin with an astral sparkle. He was similar in appearance to Sindestra, but menacing with piercing red eyes.

“Dextronomous!” The Goddess fell to her knees “What have you done?!”

“Oh, dear sister, did you really think this world was all your pretty little “vision”? I laid by your side every night slowly manipulating your dreams to get you to create this world and you did. I showed you how to sculpt your weak little mortals. Although Ava was stronger, you made the mistake of creating Emed from Ava, making him that much more vulnerable to my persuasion. The damage is irreversible and your world will now see much pain and suffering just like all the others.

Sindestra’s eyes filled with rage, an emotion she had never felt before.

“You think you are more powerful than I, brother, but you are greatly mistaken. You have betrayed me in the worst way and for that, you WILL be punished! You have mistaken my kindness for weakness and your actions, I can NEVER forgive. My people may live now with pain and adversities, but they will always have the inner strength to keep love in their heart and overcome what they may face. And YOU! I curse you to remain a cat the rest of your days. Only to serve my people and never again will you be able to communicate to any mortal! Parasites will forever bite your back and everything you eat will taste of decay leaving you forever unsatisfied!”

Dextronomous threw his head back and screamed in pain as his body broke down back into feline form and ran away still screaming and hissing in agony. The Goddess approached her children, her creations were no longer of their purest form.

“My dear children, my heart has never felt sorrow as it does now. For what you feel, I feel too. I must separate myself and leave this world for you to care for. I can always hear you if you call to me and I will visit from time to time in your dreams, guiding you along your way. I am everywhere. I am the wind and the waters. I am the earth, the fire, the sun and the moon. I am every star in the sky.”

The goddess departed, taking her garden with her back to the realm of deities.

Ava and Emed stood together in silence as they watched their mother creator disappear into the sky.

Their lives forever changed.
