Vampire wedding

What happens when a vampire falls for a human?

By DevilsRosePublished 2 years ago 11 min read

The ceremony was set up perfectly. The new born moon shines brightly in the night sky. The flowers bloomed to reveal their true beauty. The wolves howl to greet the stars. The owls swoop down into the dark abyss to catch their prey. The Bats echoed to find their home through the shadows of the void. This is no fairytale of the perfect groom and bride. Rather a pure tale of romance between an imperfect pair. A man and a vampire, a mortal and immortal, creator and destroyer, monster and monster. Their bond was eternal from the start.

Twenty-seven year old Joseph Andrews was always interested in the supernatural including monsters of myth and campfire stories. He devoured himself to tales of the undead ghouls of the night and the souls of the damned. On the night of August 16 2019, Joseph was taking a stroll through the forest with his camping gear. He always takes the long path during his yearly camping trip. Half way through his trip he heard nearby footsteps and branches snapping just one meter away. He heard a scream and then an angry voice. “Die you monster, Die by the fury of GOD FOR HE SHALL SEND YOU AND THE REST OF YOU VAMPIRES STRAIGHT DOWN TO HELL!” Joseph without hesitation ran to the origin of the voice and saw a man holding what looks like a short spear like weapon pointed to a beautiful woman. He grabs the man’s arm at lightning fast speed and pulls the spear away from the lady. The angered man turns around with cat-like reflexes and pounces on Joseph and points the spear at his chest. The man attacked Joseph and punctured his stomach. Joseph screamed in pain as the man wound up for the killing blow. Before the man could finish the job, the woman slit the man’s throat with only her fingernails. The man died on the spot with Joseph screaming in agonizing fear. “Hush please, it will only worsen the pain.” The woman said with a voice as soft silk. “You saved my life, I thank you mortal. I am now in your debt.” She continued. Joseph passed out from the pain and fell asleep in the woman's arms. She carried his lifeless body to a nearby cabin and wrapped his body in bandages to help heal him.

Joseph woke up confused and tired. The woman walked towards the couch and sat next to him. “Good morning mortal, are you feeling better?” She said with a soft soothing voice. “I’m alright if not a bit confused.” Joseph said, looking around the room. He stared at her with more questions in his head after she spoke. “Did you call me mortal?” He asked. “Oh my apologies, I rarely see mortals around my domain at this time. Come a bit closer to see what I’m cursed with.” She opened her mouth and immediately revealed her two fangs in her upper jaw. Joseph nearly fell off the couch after seeing them hidden behind a pretty face. “Are you A VAMPIRE?!” he asked with horror in his soul and a sense of death chilling down his spine. “Yes I am.” she replied. “Don’t worry, I did not save your life just to end it myself. I am rather grateful that you saved mine.” She looked at him with curiosity and in complete awe. She noticed his book of monsters and myths and asked, “What’s this on the floor?” Joseph hesitated but ultimately grabbed the book after calming down, even then he was still paralyzed with fear. “It’s a book about monsters and myths, werewolves, demons, ghosts, and vampires.” He explained with a shaky voice and uneasy smile. “May I see it?” She asked. Joseph handed her the book and showed her the vampire section. “Let’s see here, undead creatures with two big fangs correct, and oh, hahaha, Garlic and silver bullets please, that's hilarious. You humans have an amusing sense of humor.” She laughed with joy and looked more alive than the plants outside. Joseph hesitated to introduce himself but after seeing an unholy creature laugh and smile with pure happiness he introduced himself like a 1980’s gentleman. He clears his throat. “Good afternoon, my name is Joseph Andrews. What might your name be?” The vampire was amused and flattered. “Thank you, normally I’m only called monster or Demon or leach. My Vampire name is Achlys, but my preferred human name is Elisabeth.” She answered with a warm, almost seductive tone. “I must say, Joseph is a cute name. Why were you named that?” She asked. “My name?” Joseph laid back and thought about it. “I Don’t really know, I guess it’s because my parents liked the name and called me Joseph,” he answered. “I guess a name for me is just a name. You know what I mean?” he asked with a nervous look. She looked at him with a puzzled look. “Why is that?” she asked. “I dunno,” he responded. “I never thought that much about my name.” He looked in his pocket and grabbed his phone to check the time but it’s dead. “What’s the time please?” he asked. In a soft and affectionate tone she answered, “It’s 7:30 pm. why, are you feeling tired my love?” Joseph shot from the couch and began to breathe heavily, his face turning bright, blood, red. Elisabeth looked at his face and giggled and asked “why did you run so fast darling? You should see your face right now. It's hilarious.” Joseph looked shocked and continued to breathe faster than before, after ten minutes he calmed down and faced her. “Darling? That’s the name you call me?” he asked with a red face. She walked to him slowly, her high heels tapping the wooden floor, she smiled at him. “Yes darling, that is what I called you. I think it suits you. Or do you prefer babe?” Joseph’s was redder than mars and heart beating at the speed of light. “I admit you are incredibly gorgeous and breathtaking, but why call me this? Why me?” He asked, more nervous than a man without money. “You saved my life from oblivion, and for a human you are cute.” she replied. She gazed into his eyes and saw life for the first time in two-hundred years. He reminded her of her father, caring, compassionate, loving and especially warm. She reached for his hand and held it for a short time. Joseph turned red, heart shooting bullets, sweat dripping down his face and freezing solid instantly. His hand froze from her touch and his blood drained from his arm in fear of the cold. “I’m sorry, too cold?” she asked. “I would be lying if I said no.” he responded. She let go of his hand and took a few steps back. They both sat on the couch. They looked at each other's eyes and saw two abyss, one full of light and the other of pure darkness. The sun had begun to set, the moon rose from its space-bound grave. “While we are known to be nocturnal creatures, I am getting sleepy.” Elisabeth said with exhaustion. Joseph yawned quietly. “As am I.” he said. “Do you mind if I sleep beside you, resting my head on your chest like a pillow?” she asked while caressing his chest. “Uh… sure.” He replied cautiously. “Don’t worry, I’m not going to bite your neck and drain your life. I merely want to be warm.” she reassured him. He grabbed a nearby blanket near a fireplace. Using spare wood from the cabin, he set the fire and warmed the room. “I know this is sudden, and we only just met. My lips are freezing could you-” Without hesitating or thinking, Joseph kissed Elisabeth’s lips. Her eyes widen and fill with the warmth of life. “OH SHIT, sorry I wasn’t thinking!” Joseph explained with worry and a sense of fear. Elisabeth’s face turned as red as a cherry. She looked at him with tears of happiness and with her heart beating as it did when she was alive. “No please, can you do it again, in fact can you… mmm.. Maybe stay with me a little longer? You don’t have to if you don’t want to. I just… (chuckles).” Joseph tilted his head back, his face turning redder every second as his heart almost exploded out of his chest. “Like I said, you don’t have to stay. Besides, you must have a family that is worried about you.” Joseph paused for only a few seconds before replying. “The only family I have is my sick birth mother. I was adopted when I was eight years old, that was around the time she fell ill. I never knew my real father. I was an only child. My step sister passed two years ago and my step parents rarely paid attention to me. As much as I want to say my friends will miss me, I have only a few. In this world I’m only a man with a desk job and a forgettable life. I have had a girlfriend before but we only lasted a few months before a real person peaked her interest and left me.” Elisabeth’s eyes widened and stared at his tears he tried to hide. She pulled him close to her and wiped his tears from his face. She grabbed his hand and put it to her chest. “Can you feel it? Maybe not, after all a dead heart has no beat. If it could, then it would beat like yours. Full of life and freedom, with only missing the love that is given by people you know and care for. I want to be that person that gives you life. Would you… um… it’s hard to ask someone you just met. Would you like to go on a date with me?” Joseph froze to process the question. “Are you ok?” she asked nervously. “Ya, I’m ok. To answer the question you asked. Yes I would love to.” he replied. They kissed once more before falling asleep on the couch.

“That was a lovely date!” Elisabeth said with an excited voice. They have been dating for three years. It was the happiest three years of Joseph’s life. It was August 24 and Joseph had bought a ring and planned to propose to Elisabeth. He wanted to believe he was crazy and that it was only a dream, a fantasy. However, he knew it was real and he wanted it to stay real. “There's something I want to show you.” She said, It was midnight and she led him to an old cemetery built centuries ago. She led him to a gravestone. “This is mine.” she explained. Joseph froze in fear, almost falling on his back. His eyes started to spasm. His body shivered and began to seizure. He knew he was terrified but at the same time he was happy to face the truth. “I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to frighten you. It’s just that I can't keep the truth buried. I wanted to show you but I thought you would run away.” she explained. Her tears ran down her face. She was scared to see his reaction. Joseph took a knee and grabbed her hand gently pulling her arm closer to him. He reached for his pocket to grab the ring. “This has been the best three years of my life just because I met you and have been with you.” He opened the box. The ring was made of a blood red ruby in the center surrounded by golden roses. He asked her the question he had wanted to ask for a long time. “Will you marry me?” Elisabeth’s face glowed and lit on fire after hearing those words. “YES!” She screamed with excitement. “I know this is sudden but can I prepare the wedding darling?” she asked him. “Um sure. Besides, I've never been present for one before.” “Ok great, you're going to love it.” she explained. After two weeks of planning and getting everything perfect the wedding was ready. Joseph was excited. His face filled with joy and his blood rushing out of his body and into his heart. Many members of Elisabeth’s family arrived to celebrate including her “father” or as she says the “master of the family or the savior.” He was there to officiate them. After welcoming the guests, introductions and the boring details of the wedding, the ceremony was about to close. The Master looked at the chaotic couple and said the famous words. “Do you Joseph take her hand in this marriage to be her husband?” he asked “I do” Joseph replied. Before the master could ask Elisabeth, she nodded and said the same words. “Then I pronounce you husband and wife, you may turn the groom.” The master said. “Excuse me, turn?” Joseph asked nervously and respectfully. “Yes darling, for me to be yours I have to turn you. It is unfortunate that your warm life must die and your fire flicker out. I will be sad for some time, but this is the only way we can be with each other for eternity.” She explained. Joseph only let her feed on his arm and neck for a short period of time while they were dating to keep her healthy, but to be drained entirely made his flesh crawl out of his skin. “With all due respect, is there a way that we can be married without draining my body?” He asked. Silence filled the room for a few minutes. The master finally spoke. “Unfortunately we would have to cancel the wedding if that were to happen. You can always remarry, but for it to be official and to be with her as her true lover, you must be turned.” His fate was sealed, he knew what he had to do. With one final tear and a nod to the master, Joseph reveled his neck to Elisabeth and gives her his life. “Don’t worry, it will sting for only a second. I will make it slow so that both of us can enjoy these final moments.” she whispered. The others escorted them to a private bedroom where he lay down, neck open. Elisabeth lay down on top of him, kissing him one last time. She opened her mouth and stabbed his neck with her needle like fangs. She slowly drained his blood, bit by bit slowly killing him. Joseph knows this feeling. It aroused him and made him relax. It feels good. Elisabeth kept her word and began to slow down. She was blushing all over her face. Her body devouring his. Aroused by his taste. Tears dripped down both faces, all of them full of joy and beauty. When she was done, Elisabeth opened her mouth and dug her fangs out of his neck. Blood slowly gushed out of the bite mark, she felt awkward from liking it clean. Joseph took his last breath and died, eyes shut into their coffins. Elisabeth slept with his lifeless body for a few hours. When she woke up she looked at her husband with such grace and sorrow as she cut her arm and gave her blood to him. She opened his mouth to enable him to drink it. His lifeless corpse swallowed the drops of blood. Within a few minutes he opened his eyes. He saw his wife, his new future and the eternity they shall spend together. As the day ended and the crows sang, they returned to their cabin to live the rest of their undead lives together for centuries to come and as they lay on the couch, they embraced the infinity of time they have together as they returned to their graves one last time.
