Unraveled - Part 4
A country solo snippet

Samuel and Patricia took a fast look at one another.
“Stop!”
Patricia yelled at the squirrel with the half knitted shirt or pants or whatever it was starting to look like now. Samuel started jetting towards the squirrel.
“I’mma catch that little nut-headed-sweater-thief!”
The yarn was still unraveling behind the darting squirrel. Before he could reach the squirrel, the squirrel scampered up the side of a tree to hide in its nest.
Samuel couldn’t reach the end of the thread which was hanging down. He started climbing the tree like a wild monkey, while swatting at the end of the yarn with one desperate hand. The tips of his fingers touched it, just barely, but before he could get a good grasp of the end of the yarn, the squirrel yanked it up like it was the line of a fishing pole.
Patricia, at the base of the tree called up at Samuel,
“Just give it up Samuel! Give it up… before ya’ fall and crack your head open!”
Samuel looked down for a second. With copious amounts of adrenaline pumping, he glared at the nest with the blue yarn on top.
Patricia laughed at the spectacle of everything, then said,
“At least the squirrel will have a nice nest for the winter. I wonder what the squirrel will do when it realizes that the yarn can talk!”
“It talks?”
Samuel laughed.
“You know… I’ve told you to call me if you ever need to talk. You don’t have to chat with yarn.”
He jumped down from the tree. Gasping for air, he grabbed his leg, with a pained expression.
“Oh crap, I got a cramp in my leg. Or pulled something maybe!”
“Oh dear goodness. I’ll get some ice!”
Patricia ran off and was back quickly with an ice pack.
“Let’s just eat here under the tree for the picnic since you need to ice your poor leg now!”
They ate the picnic food while Samuel iced his leg.
As they were eating, they heard a raspy voice singing.
“Hear that?”
Samuel asked.
“Yeah, I sure can…”
She looked up at the squirrel nest and the blue yarn which looked like a knitted hat from the angle from where she sat.
“Samuel… don’t send me to the loony house but that yarn talks and that singing you hear… I think it’s the yarn singing.”
Samuel sat with his mouth open and some Caesar salad flopped out on the ground accidentally. They listened closer, with their necks raised like ostriches, trying to hear the singing lyrics from above which sounded oddly like a country song.
“I’ve been a whole lotta’ places, and I’ve seen a lot of pretty faces but never have I crossed a sassy squirrel girl. She twirled me up and called it luck… she calls me her Lost and Found, and now I’m being woven round and round her little finger…oh it’s the best nest… oh yes, the best nest I ever did see.”
Patricia and Samuel fell on their backs laughing hysterically.

This is hilarious... and the song... A country twang lol Samuel's pretty ambitious, climbing that tree. Wonder what he'll do next!
Haha, This is too funny! A squirrel thief, Samuel going full Tarzan, and a country-singing yarn? Absolute chaos in the best way—had me laughing the whole time! 😆✨
