Under Purple Clouds

Dancing With The Blushing Sky

By Jim RaysPublished 3 years ago 3 min read

Every night at midnight, the purple clouds came out to dance with the blushing sky. It was a beautiful sight that could only be witnessed by those who dared to stay up past their bedtime. For most, the world went to sleep at midnight, but for those who stayed up, there was a magical world waiting to be discovered.

Jade was one of those people who stayed up late every night, just to catch a glimpse of the dance between the clouds and the sky. She had been doing this for as long as she could remember, ever since her grandmother had told her about the magical hour when the world was transformed.

Jade lived in a small town on the outskirts of a large city. It was a quiet place where nothing ever happened, but Jade liked it that way. She was content with her simple life, spending her days at school and her evenings reading books or watching the stars.

As the clock struck midnight, Jade made her way to the rooftop of her house. It was her favorite spot to watch the dance, with an unobstructed view of the sky. She climbed the ladder and settled onto a blanket she had laid out earlier, waiting for the magic to begin.

The sky was just starting to blush, turning from its deep blue to a soft pink. Jade watched as the clouds started to form, swirling and twirling in a dance that was both graceful and mesmerizing. The purple clouds were the first to appear, like a curtain being pulled back to reveal the show.

Jade couldn't help but smile as she watched the clouds dance. It was as if they were putting on a show just for her, a private performance that no one else could see. As the dance continued, Jade felt herself being pulled into the magic of the moment, lost in the beauty of the sky and the clouds.

But then something strange happened. As the clouds continued to dance, they started to take on new shapes. They twisted and turned, forming creatures and objects that Jade had never seen before. A dragon appeared, its scales shimmering in the moonlight. A castle rose from the clouds, with turrets and spires that reached towards the sky.

Jade rubbed her eyes, thinking that she must be dreaming. But when she opened them again, the shapes were still there, clearer than ever before. She watched in amazement as the cloud creatures started to move, each one taking on a life of its own.

It was then that Jade realized that she was no longer alone on the rooftop. A small, furry creature had appeared beside her, watching the dance with interest.

"Hello," Jade said, startled by the sudden appearance of the creature.

"Hello," it replied, its voice surprisingly deep.

"What are you?" Jade asked, unable to take her eyes off the dancing clouds.

"I am a cloud spirit," the creature replied. "And you, Jade, are a dreamer."

Jade looked at the creature in confusion. "What do you mean, a dreamer?"

"You have a special gift, Jade," the cloud spirit said. "You are able to see the magic in the world, to see the things that others cannot. And it is through your dreams that you can bring that magic to life."

Jade was still trying to process what the cloud spirit was saying when the dance suddenly came to an end. The clouds dispersed, leaving nothing but a clear night sky in their wake.

Jade turned to the cloud spirit, but it was gone. She was left alone on the rooftop, wondering if she had imagined the whole thing. But as she made her way back down to her bedroom, she knew that it had been real. The cloud spirit had confirmed what she had always suspected, that there was more to the world than what met the eye.
