"Nobody can hear a scream in the vacuum of space, or so they say." Such haunted words echo still, like a bell tolling in the distance...

Perhaps they could see me if I was someone to find or somewhere known in the stars.

"Look here" I'd signal

code 505

please save me...

A trail perhaps? The scattered crumbs of my ship left for the adventurers and scavengers to find.

Maybe fortune finds me and the tales and fables of the last planet untouched by humanity rings true and they call to me their aid.

no, I am nobody; nothing more than a silhouette woven into the vast emptiness that surrounds me, only a fool would venture this far into the endless and in that I am alone.

The thoughts rang slowly and repeatedly, How long before they started over?

How long before I lose myself again?

Was there even still a shipwreck that surrounded me?

No, I cant imagine there is.

No wreckage to be seen anyway, no life except my own.

"Seen?" I thought to myself.

How long had it been since I've seen!?

What causes sight again?

"Light." I reminded myself as my eyes traced its strands to the source.

A star?

....

....

A star!?

But how is that possible I shouldn't be anywhere near a star, the endless started 6 light years away from any known star and I traveled at least 2 within its depths.

No, I think not, for one it's moving to fast, the light around my hand is getting bigger.

How long had it been since I'd seen my own hand? What once was strong and full had now reflected back at me with age and decay.

No, do not think of yourself now, focus.

If the light is growing bigger around your hand what does that mean?

"it's heading towards you" I thought to myself, It could be a ship.

It could be my escape.

hope had found it's kindling and A flame had burned in me unlike any other, It could take hundreds of years to get to me, but time is all I have now and if the object stays it's course I could go home.

So I'll do what I've always done and wait.

....

....

two hundred and fifty three years later the object had grown in size and had indeed been a ship, it took another ten years to reach me or at least the years where somewhere in that neighborhood, math was never my strong suit and floating lifelessly in an endless void had a tendency to make the years blend.

You'd think I'd have spent the years plotting and formulating a foolproof plan assuring my safety and boarding of the ship before it hit me, but you'd be wrong, any small amount of movement and I'd be thrown off the ships presumed trajectory and waving it goodbye in the distance as it passes me by, but then again it's not like I'd find a rope floating around out here in the endless to lasso myself a ride at the last minute.

so yes I am 15 minutes away from being hit directly by a ship moving at speeds unimaginable with no plan, a fitting end to the foolish robot who wanted to traverse the endless and be somebody worth being.

"I am a robot?" I thought to myself , The thought bleeding out of me like an old memory.

....

"Lasso a ride?" Why couldn't I signal the ship before it hit me? After all, I am a robot.

2 minutes before the ship hits me.

If I use the power I have left I can send a signal, but if it doesn't work I lose everything...

1 minute before the ship hits me.

I'll only have enough power to send two letters what should they be?!

What could possibly get them to stop, with two letters?

Times up...

"Hey Echo this coffee taste's like shit." Bentley proclaimed loudly in the mess hall, her straw like hair more wild than usual.

"If it tastes like shit why do you keep drinking it then girly?" A trollish man barked In repose.

"Did it sound like I was talking to you, you overgrown pig? Or did you suddenly decide that your name was Echo now?"

"Don't call me pig!"

"Well, Don't call me girly!"

"You wanna go shrimp? Because I'll put the hurt on you if you want it!"

"Let's do it then fat boy!" She snarled back with a mouth full of food.

"Guys, guys I know it's been a long voyage, but if you keep going at it with each other, we are never going to make it out here in one piece." Echo said in sighed breath, his face tired and overgrown.

"Sorry Echo!" They both proclaimed, still glaring at each other and veering to go at the slightest insult.

"Lets just have a..."

Boom!

Suddenly and without warning The ship cuts speed and comes to a complete halt.

"What is this what happened computer?!" Echo yells from the pile of people now intagled together.

"Did you do this pig?" Bentley screams over echo, her elbow hitting him in the face.

"Nuh ugh! Wasn't me!" The trolllike man proclaimed in defiance, his snot covered nose pointing up at her.

"Guys please!"

"Sorry captain echo." Their reply in unison and timid for making captain Echo yell."

"Computer why have we stopped?" Captain Echo asked again more prominently.

A signal came through captain, my orders were to stop the ship immediately if life had been detected.

"A SIGNAL?" They all gasped in amazement.

"What was the signal computer?" Captain Echo asked, his voice trembling with excitement.

"Is coordinates to a new world"

"Is it an undiscovered species?"

"Is it some sort of high tech weapon hidden out in the endless to destroy the universe?" Their guesses becoming more audacious with each crew member.

"Let her speak!" The captain yells out losing patients.

"The signal reads as follows."

*HI*

"Hi?" "What kind of message is that?" Bentley asks unimpressed and slightly disappointed.

"Is there something outside the ship computer?"

"Yes a life force is floating directly in front of us exactly fifteen centimeters from the ship."

Excitement erupts as they trample over the Captain making their way to the bow of the ship.

"I think I'm the one who is going to lose it before the end of this voyage." The Captain mutters to himself.

....

"What is it Captain?" Bentley asks in confusion.

"It appears to be an old TC.4 unit."

"Like from the world Torran? What's it doing way out here tho?"

"Beats me." The captain responds, his face as confused as the rest of the crew.

"He must have used the last bit of his power to send that single, Let's get him powered up and see what he is doing out here."

....

like dead air broadcasting on a moving screen my vision once again returned to me.

"was I dead? Or Did I actually manage to signal the ship" I thought to myself.

"Are these hideous creatures my rescuers or have I indeed made my way into the afterlife??

"Hello robot! Welcome aboard The Red Nimbus." The smalleest of the creatures called out to me.

It appeared as tho she was female by the sound of her voice, the only hair she fashioned was straw like and sat at the top of her head, such a strange creature.

"We are looking for the last planet in the universe! would you like to join our crew?" Bentley said with a grin.

"Fools." I called them,

"there is only nothingness out here."

"We found you didn't we?" Her grin even wider.

"Are you with us?" She asked again this time with a stern look on her face.

"Could be worse." I thought to myself.
