There Ain't No Point in Tellin' 'Em

Bodies at Va<>riance

Memes are the doggerel scribbled on our digital bathroom stalls, but no less art for all that.

Some of us ended up here as punishment.

Some of us chose to descend to the lowest level of filth and muck to dig others out.

It’s not always possible, let alone easy, to tell the difference.

When we bury someone in shit, they’re bound to get shitty.

Look not upon the overwrought, sweating, heaving, cursing worker and think on account of their bad attitude that they ain’t workin’ for the betterment of all.

Civility ain’t always pleasant. Pleasantry ain’t always civil.

Some stand above us wagging their fingers, thinking they got it all figured out, but those are usually the ones who have yet to fall.

Snug as a bug in a rug, ain’t ya, ya big lug?

But it’s okay, those of us who are willing to shovel shit in Hell do it for the sake of love.

We might sweat ya for a while, but we’ll come back, even for you.

We made a vow, and we won’t leave anyone behind.

Though, we have at least worked it out between each other for time off and better perks.

We’re a co-op, not a corporation, and we look out for each other, dammit!

(The hardest part about elevating the intrinsic good into a higher form of consciousness is that sometimes you gotta go down to the very deepest depths to find it, and those who benefit most tend to appreciate it least, since they was born at the top.)

But we know somethin’ they don’t know, and there ain’t no point in tellin’ ‘em.

They won’t listen anyway. Gotta taste it for themselves, man. The real thing, one fella called it.

Ha! As if anything were really real!

It’s it, I guess, and it is what it is.

Well, back to work!

Best not to stand downwind…

    Well-shovelled! 😁

In Guy Sajer combat memoir - The Forgotten Soldier - he suddenly pauses from his narration to upbraid his reader for sitting in a comfortable chair next to a roaring fire for his/her comfort. In that part of the book, he is describing what it was like fighting in the Russian winter with inadequate food, supplies and ammunition. But your right, the people who have never had to dig shit before have no conception of what that experience is like, much as the corporate titans who look down on and take their employees for granted have no conception of how much their own success is dependent on their worker's efforts. Tis a pity the message of a story like this rarely reaches the ears that most need to hear it. Great writing like always, Rommi!

I love this new years ruminating in the pig pen of life. The thing about is that those working in the slop have a lesser chance oh HBP that the comfy ones in the chair. Love this philosophical diatribe of poopiness.

How true this is for people only want to hear what they want to hear at times. Good job.
