In the heart of New Orleans, Nathaniel Cross was a forensic pathologist obsessed with understanding death. Raised by a mother steeped in Voodoo traditions, he balanced science with the mystical, but tragedy struck when his fiancée, CiCi, was murdered by a corrupt syndicate. Her death pushed Nathaniel to the brink of madness, leading him to desperate measures.
In a forbidden ritual, Nathaniel used CiCi’s essence, bound by Voodoo, to tether his soul to the Shadow Realm — a dimension where spirits lingered. The ritual went awry, intertwining his life force with the shadows themselves. His body became an ethereal entity, shifting between the tangible world and the Shadow Realm. The Wraith was born.
The Wraith can manipulate darkness, becoming invisible, phasing through walls, and traveling short distances through the shadows. He can also tap into the memories of the deceased by touching their remains, gleaning secrets and knowledge. However, each use of his power pulls him closer to the Shadow Realm, threatening to sever his connection to the living world.
Clad in a black, tattered coat that seems to meld with the night, his eyes glow with a ghostly blue, a stark contrast to his shadowy form. The Wraith haunts the alleys of New Orleans, hunting those who prey on the innocent, seeking vengeance for CiCi and others like her. Yet, Nathaniel struggles with the darkness within.
The Shadow Realm whispers to him, tempting him to give in to its embrace and forsake his humanity. His greatest challenge is not the enemies he faces, but the battle for his own soul. As The Wraith, Nathaniel fights to protect the living, even as he slowly becomes something neither fully alive nor dead.

Life has shaped me, but I’ve stayed true to who I am, steady and deliberate. Growing up on the back forty, I didn’t just live life, I soaked it in. Now, I carry those stories with me, always creating, always writing.
