You’re sitting and waiting. You distract yourself with scrolling.
Someone’s shadow engulfs you.
Annoyed, you look up. It’s a child.
“Want to play while we wait?”
You look around. The waiting room is a sea of dull faces and glowing screens.
You nod, take the child’s hand, and walk outside.
Author's Note:
I wrote a trio of second person micros that are distinct stories but connected in their thematic progression. If you're interested, check out the other two linked below:
1. The Fall
2. The Wait
3. The Hope

Sweet!
This is excellent- perfectly tapping into the screen-zombie age. "The waiting room is a sea of dull faces and glowing screens." is an all too familiar image unfortunately! Love the hope in this one though, as opposed to the end of The Fall.
This is like a Twighlight zone episode...what the ...is going on? really nice
Wonderful… ‘ Want to play while we wait?” … a far better use of the time!
LOVE this. Let's play while we wait! :)
Omgggg, I loveeeeee this! It was so optimistic and gave me hope!
