The Value of Hard Work
A son's lesson on earning and appreciating money

Yesterday was a very stressful day for me. In the midst of all that stress, my eldest son had to tell me a story. So when I asked him if he could give me five minutes, he couldn't say no...
Here's the story,
Here, Mom, there was a 16-year-old boy in a family in America. So his father called this boy and said,
"You are now turning 10. So you need to earn some money while studying. When I come home this evening, you should have earned five dollars... , so his father left for work. "
The mother of this son, who thought that her 10-year-old son was too young to work here and there, gave five dollars to her son and told him to keep this and give it to his father in the evening. The son also found five rupees, which was really funny...
So the father came home and called his son and asked, "Where did you find five dollars today, my son?"
Yes, father, here are five dollars, and when he handed it to his father, the father threw it into the fire on the other side. After doing so, he looked at his son's face and said,
"This is not something you earned. I told you to earn it. Okay. Tomorrow, earn five dollars yourself and come back."
So, by collecting little by little from relatives in nearby houses, this boy found five dollars. When his father came home at night, he asked the same question as usual. The son, who was ready to answer that question, said, "Here, I earned five dollars and gave it to my father. But this father threw the five dollars into the fire..After doing so, he looked at his son's face and said, "You earned this, you didn't ask anyone for it.
Son, I told you to earn it and bring it. "Try it tomorrow."
So the boy went to the village the next day and said to a man in a certain house, "If there is any work to be done in this house, tell me. I will do it. Pay me a fair amount for it. It doesn't matter if it is a heavy job. I will do it."
So he took on the job of pulling a sandbag from the front of the house to the shed in the back, and after successfully completing the job, the boy earned one dollar and eighty-five cents. Not five dollars. Only one dollar and eighty-five cents.
So that night, his father asked, "Where did you find five dollars?"
"Oh, Dad, I worked hard today and I only earned one dollar and eighty-five cents. "I couldn't find five," he handed the money to his father. Immediately after giving it, his father threw it into the fire as usual.
This boy, who was usually quiet, shouted loudly that day, "Hey, what are you doing? Oh, I earned it with my hard work." He quickly picked up the note that was about to burn.
Come on, don't you see that children, even the rupees they earn with their hard work are worth a lot. It is only when you earn it with hard work that you really realize the value of money. Last time, when I threw the ten dollars into the fire, you didn't feel sad because you didn't know how hard the other person had worked to earn it.
So, my son, today you learned how hard people work to find even a small dollar. Every money that is earned fairly has value. Just like the value of your one dollar and eighty cents.
Isn't that a very beautiful moral story, Mom? The day I first earned money, I realized the value of money...
Not only my son, but I also remembered...the day I first earned money. How I spent that little money so carefully.....
