Patience is the best weapon and silence is the best revenge. The words rang through seven-year-old Max Emerson's head as he stared out the rear window of his parent's Mercedes-Benz. It was the final sentence of the book he had just finished reading.

His family was on their way home from Manhattan to their large mansion on forty acres in Westchester, New York. It was a dark and stormy night. His twin brother Arthur was sleeping peacefully while his parents made small talk with each other. Max stared out the window, deep in thought.

Arthur was the athletic brother excelling in any athletic endeavor he would pursue. Max was the intelligent brother, spending most of his time reading books in a library and gaining knowledge.

They were halfway through the drive when a semi-truck t-boned the small Mercedes-Benz, killing Mr. Emerson and his son Arthur on impact and sending the car rolling off the road into a tree. It was late at night, no other traffic was on the road, and the semi-truck fled the scene. Max Emerson sat in that car with his mutilated brother's corpse, dead father, and dying mother for four hours before anyone found the wreckage.

Reynard Drake was a family friend and a board member at Emerson Enterprises, coincidently profiting the most after his friend's death. Reynard and his wife gained custody over young Max Emerson.

Max Emerson is a gifted genius. The seven-year-old quickly became aware of all the Drake family secrets. However, he never shared this newfound knowledge. Who would believe a child? Not to mention, Max was hiding an even darker secret. Arthur Emerson was still alive, just not in the way people imagine. His soul shared a body with his brother Max.
