Mindy’s life had been turned upside down this year. She’d had three fights, been in detention twelve times, and arrested once—all for actions she swore she did not commit. Everything seemed to start when the new girl, Cindy, came to school, or about that time.
Now, the person she felt was to blame for all her ill luck stood in front of her. She knew feeling this way about someone she didn’t know well was ill-rational, but every fiber of Mindy’s body told her that Cindy was out to get her. After spending two days locked in a closet, and the first person she saw was Cindy, she figured her gut instinct was right.
Cindy said, “You know we were born the same day, with the same delivery. Mom kept you, and she got rid of me. I always wondered what was so special about you that she kept you over me, and there’s nothing.
“I’ve taken your friends, your boyfriend, turned our mother against you, and set you up to take the fall on numerous occasions. And you’ve stupidly fallen for each one.” Cindy Continued as she removed her wig to reveal a full head of black curly hair; the only equal I’d ever seen was in my mirror. I stared at my twin as if she were my mirror, noting that she had a freckle under her right eye and one under my left eye, but otherwise, we were identical.
I saw the hate on her face and knew that I would not make it out alive. “I gave you a shot before I woke you up. You should start feeling it soon. Don’t worry. You won’t feel any pain.” I held my hand up and realized I was holding a hypodermic syringe. “Yeah, that one. This has been the perfect murder. No one will ever suspect me.”

Why, you would think her resentment would be focused on her mother. Perhaps that's coming up next, Mother?
The ending was unexpected. I love that!
Hang on, did Cindy make it look like Mindy took that shot herself? To make it look like suicide?
This is definitely a thriller story. Unexpected ending for sure.
