Layla wandered her way through the halls, now knowing the truth to her parent’s death. The truth to the lie that has been destroying her life. She knew now, with a simple look from a classmate that it wasn’t really an accident.
You see, Layla was a very observant person. She always had been and even planned to be a detective one day, knowing her skills would come to great use. But somehow today, in this moment, those skills were doing the opposite of what she hoped for.
They were in English 3 when the teacher was talking about murders posed as accidents when this snobby rich kid, Kyle, glanced over at Layla with an intentional look. And instantly, her mind raced with the thought of the joint suicides her parents committed and how it could’ve possibly been orchestrated to actually be a murder.
The look Kyle gave her could’ve meant many things to many different people but she knew exactly what he intended. She knew he knew something that he wasn’t mentioning, and she would do anything. ANYTHING. To find out the truth about her parent’s death, because the truth about her is that she’s been an absolute wreck the last 2 months since their suicides (murders?). She wasn’t going to let anyone see that side of her though.
