"The Tiger Eats the Mother and Child."

The Tiger's Curse

"The tiger eats the mother and child."

In the middle of the deep forest where the moonlight only shone through, the sobs of the great hunter echoed in his heart. Guilt was eating away at his soul violently. He could not forget the image of his wife being dragged into the forest by the tiger, and his eldest son who almost lost his life in its clutches.

After using the magic bullet to kill the tiger, it let out its final cry that shook the entire forest. Before its body slowly transformed into a naked human woman covered in blood, and it was none other than his wife...

The great hunter collapsed to his knees with no strength left, tears streaming down his face. He screamed and called out his wife's name, "Ebua!!" in a heartbreaking voice.

The eldest son, who had been wounded all over his body, slowly crawled towards him. His face was pale. "Father...mother...is it really your mother...?" He cried in grief.

The soft sound of his last breath coming from his mother's body almost broke the hearts of both father and son. ''... Don't... blame each other... It's not your father... It's not anyone... It's your... karma...'' Then everything went black.

They cremated her body simply in the middle of the forest, lit incense sticks to bid farewell, and placed her mother’s clothes beside the ashes.

But... The ashes refused to cool down, as if the fire was still lingering in her soul.

That night, after the cremation. The faint sound of howling wind started to get louder and louder around the haunting shop.

The son woke up again the middle of the night, the light of the lantern flickered as if someone was blowing on the flame.

And at the end of his sight... The vague shadow of a young woman was standing near the same stream that he had met yesterday.

She turned around again... Her eyes were blank... But tears were streaming down her cheeks, along with a soft whisper...

''Why did you shoot your mother... I want to get better... But I don't want to die...''

That voice captivated his son, causing him to follow her mindlessly.

The great hunter woke up suddenly when he felt something was wrong. He quickly grabbed his gun and ran after her in the middle of the night.

And at the stream... The son was seen reaching out to the shadow of a young woman waving at him on the other bank.

The great hunter shouted in a shrill voice, ''Ai Laem!! Don't go!!" But his voice was soft compared to the spell of sadness.

The shadow slowly turned back again, revealing the body that had changed from a young woman to a half-tiger, half-human. Blood flowed down her mouth.

The great hunter did not hesitate anymore. He knew that his wife's soul had not yet escaped.

And the tiger spirit had completely possessed her body.

He raised the gun. The last bullet in the pocket was an old magic bullet that his father had given him.

He clenched his teeth tightly, pulled the trigger with tears streaming down his face...

The gun rang out. The shadow screamed before disappearing into the wind, leaving only the tiger's footprints and tears.

After that incident, the father and son never returned to the forest again.

They moved to a distant village.

There was only an old family photo

hanged on the wall of the house, along with an old lantern...that no one dared to light again.

Because in the quiet night...there was still a faint whisper...

"I'm still here...waiting for my child who has never recovered...and waiting for my husband...who shot me with those two hands..."
