I am Private First Class Edward Mallack of the 1st Battalion, 23rd Marine Regiment, “The Texas Battalion”. I never thought that when I go off to war it’ll be against frickin aliens, I thought I would end up in Iraq like my dad. Though I worry, though are the most powerful military on this planet. On this planet. Will it be enough to send a fraction of our infantry and armored forces to liberate one of the biggest cities on the planet from a force we have no familiarity with?
Aliens dropped onto Mexico City, from a large ship covering the city in its shadow. Little coffins of individual soldiers dropped into the city, thousands upon thousands of people died on the first day. The Mexican Army tried to take back the city, but could not make it in, all they could manage is to entrench themselves around the city. Countries around the world offered support, Canada, and South Korea offered military advisors and air support. The UK offered a reserve artillery regiment. Cowards, the United States of America is the only one that offered the best support of all, ground forces. Various elements of the United States Marine Corps, and United States Army have been mobilized, including reserves and air force detachments. The Marines are sending element of the 1st and 4th Divisions with the 4th Aviation, the Army is sending the 1st Cavalry and Infantry Divisions. Every states National Guard has been mobilized for the home front in case any aliens decide to land in the US.
They’re the lucky ones, they probably get hang around for Chrsitmas but they don’t send the Marines for easy jobs. Now I wait for battle outside of Mexico City, the smell of smoke in the hair and what Gunny says is suppose the smell of flesh and hair being burned. I now sit next to a congregation of Mexican soldiers and any Americans that happen to be Roman Catholic, I thought the arrival of aliens would shatter their faith in God, but I never read the Bible so I don’t really understand what their stance is on the existence of aliens.
On the morning of December 14th, 2022, the Mexican Army and the USMC made their way into the eastern parts of Mexico City, not before hellfire rained down from British and American howitzers on any suspected alien positions. Our objective is to take the airport, see if there are any survivors of the evacuation that took place there. An entire convoy going down the Highway 150 filled with tanks and carriers and fighting vehicles. I am manning a .50 caliber machine gun for the armored carrier I’m on, which may sound cool but I’m the one sticking my head out for any aliens to shoot me. Though I am wearing full 30 pound body armor and a helmet with goggles and a mandible guard wearing a pair of electronic earmuffs to keep my hearing intact, I still feel naked and exposed. I tell myself this is the best personal armor system in the world, but it might not be enough for something not from this world. Then it hits me, literally. A laser beam hits me right in the chest and I fall into the carrier, I can’t breathe, I try to take a breath and nothing. I’m gonna die. I’m gonna die, oh god, please help me. Our corpsman, a little glasses wearing guy named Weissman, looks down my plate carrier and then touches my plate. “Ow!” he recoils in pain, “looks like your plate stopped the laser, but it’s hot. You just got the wind knocked out of ya.” Thank you American tax payers. Inside the carrier I can hear the muffled gunfire of the rest of the convoy opening fire on the sniper position, then I hear the loud boom of the M1 Abrams then nothing, I guess a laser beam is no match for American steel and lead.
