The Sparrow in The Pink Field
She was a stranger in a strange land...

She was a stranger in a strange land. She was not ready to give up. She was ready to fight. Staring into the distance, she was ready to run again. The sound of helicopters were getting closer, barking could be heard in the distance, sirens kept on wailing. There was no time to loose. She set off on a sprint. Through the pink field. She felt eyes watching her, if she made it into the forest she would be safe. She would find the safe cabin eventually. Nettles stung her legs, sharp bits of grass cut at her arms and she occasionally felt something jab at her sides. Nothing was going to stop her. Tripping over her own feet she stumbled to the ground, she quickly picked herself up and carried on with an instant.
Helicopters roared over her head. She felt targeted, that's because she was being targeted. Red lights appeared on her body, they were ready to shoot at her. The girl was not ready to go out this way, she wasn't ready at all. The grass was getting longer the further she went on, there was only one thing to do. She quickly fell on her front and into the long grass. She looked around and the red lights disappeared. Success. There was still quite a way until the forest though.

Snakes slithered by quickly, some stopped to watch her but then carried on, mice dashed by to get away from the snakes, spiders scurried up the grass and wasps kept going for the girl. Birds whistled ahead, the whistling became louder every second, that meant she was getting closer to the forest. Safety was nigh. She just had to move quicker. Blood started to shed from her skin, her legs were cut from the sharp grass. Wasps started to sting her, she kept waving her arms to move them but they kept coming back for her arms. She gritted her teeth with pain and kept going.
After a while the wasps finally left her alone and she rested a little. The helicopters still hovered overhead, the sirens and the barking had died off. She took a moment to lie back and soak in the scene around her. The pilots in the helicopters seem confused, the heat gave her sunburn, the snakes around just ignored her, spiders crawled over her body in curiosity, she just ignored them, spiders didn't bother her.

Now that she has some breath back she moved on. The forest was finally here, freedom was here. She still stayed army crawling just in case anyone saw her. Not to long until the safe house now. The tree with xcx carved into it. It wasn't hard to miss. No one ever entered these parts, it was dangerous. Wolves lived in here, that was enough to scare people off. The noises of the helicopters died off. She hoped they called the search off. The sun was starting to set. She had to find the house before it got dark.
Further and further she delved into the forest, it was slowly getting dark at this point. Owls hooted in nearby trees, squirrels rushed off to their homes, the occasional mouse scurried by and wolves whined far in the distance. Her stomach gave a loud rumble, she was rather thirsty and couldn't wait to lie down. She stepped into a hole and fell onto her front. She didn't bother getting up, she took the moment as a time out. Looking up she saw, and felt ants crawl over her body.

"Ahhhh!" she let out a scream and dashed the ants off her. Well she certainly wasn't doing that again. A very silly thing to do. She turned around and then saw it, the tree with the mark. She scoured the area for anyone or anything watching her, nothing in sight. Behind the tree was the safe house. Finally. She walked towards the door, took the key out of her pocket, unlocked it, entered the home, and locked it from the inside. Freedom was finally hers. The Sparrow finally had her freedom.
