The secret of the Carpathian Mountains: The gateway to another world !

Connection to a mysterious world

By cyrusPublished about a year ago 5 min read

On a cool October morning, Ovidiu, an adventurer passionate about mysteries and legends, woke up at the edge of a deep forest in the Carpathian Mountains. There had been days of solitary explorations among the shadowy ridges and deep valleys of the mountains, searching for lost relics or clues to ancient legends.

A mysterious story about a gate that would have connected our world to another world, a secret one and inaccessible to the common man, had haunted him for a long time, and he finally felt that he was close to discovering its key.

The forest was silent, as if all of nature held its breath in anticipation of something great. Only the rustle of leaves under Ovidiu's boots and the whispers of the wind among the trees disturbed the ancestral silence.

Armed with a backpack full of supplies, a flashlight, a compass and a journal, Ovidiu headed for a hidden clearing at the foot of a rocky massif, where he had heard that a mysterious rock formation was located.

Penetrating through the dense bushes, he came across a rocky plateau, on which was carved a strange symbol, resembling a spiral, surrounded by ancient runes, almost erased by the passage of time. His heart began to beat faster.

He remembered the words of the old shaman from the neighboring village, who had told him about the “Ancient Door”, a gateway to other worlds, guarded by beings from forgotten times.

Ovidiu approached the rock and, without knowing why, reached out his hand towards the strange symbol. The moment his fingers touched the runes carved into the stone, he felt a slight tremor under his feet.

The ground seemed to vibrate, and the usually gentle wind became a harsh howl. Then, with a deep creak, an opening opened in the rock, revealing a dark tunnel, dimly lit by a strange green light.

Without thinking, Ovidiu stepped inside. As he advanced through the cool tunnel, he felt the reality around him gradually change. The air became thick and fragrant, with the scent of unknown flowers. After a few steps, the tunnel opened into a completely different world. The sky had a purple hue, and suspended islands floated in the sky, covered in strange vegetation.

Around him, trees with sparkling blue leaves and strange flowers grew in strange shapes, and above him flew creatures that vaguely resembled birds on Earth, but had much more intense colors and diaphanous wings.

Ovidiu was amazed by the beauty of this world, but his amazement quickly turned to anxiety when he realized that he was being followed. From behind a huge tree, a figure emerged and slowly approached him. It was a tall creature, with pale, almost translucent skin, and its eyes were large, of an intense green, without irises, only a strange sparkle.

The being wore a coat made of a material that seemed to flow like water, and on its chest it had a medallion with the symbol that Ovidiu had seen carved in the rock.

Welcome, Seeker, said the creature in a deep voice, which echoed directly in Ovidiu's mind, without moving its lips.

Ovidiu swallowed hard, but quickly found his courage.

Who are you? Where am I?

The creature tilted its head slightly and answered:

I am Atarys, guardian of the Forbidden Garden. You are in the Underworld, a place hidden from humans, a realm where only the chosen ones reach. Few mortals have ever stepped foot here and returned.

Ovidiu looked around fascinated. Every leaf, every ray of purple light, everything seemed like a dream from another reality. But his curiosity was unquenchable.

Why am I here? What do you seek from me? he asked.

Atarys approached and looked him straight in the eye.

Every seeker has a hidden motive, even if he doesn’t know it. You were drawn to the gate, and it opened because you were found worthy. You must make a choice: you can stay here and learn the secrets of this world, but you will never return to Earth. Or you can leave now, never knowing the secrets of the Garden.

Ovidiu reflected for a moment. This was a once-in-a-lifetime chance, but the thought that he would never return was overwhelming. However, he decided to take the risk and stay.

Atarys smiled slightly and raised his hand. From the ground covered with flowers and grasses, two other beings rose, similar to Atarys, but each different, with their own strange and fascinating features.

These are my brothers, Vorath and Lyral, said Atarys. They will help you learn about us and understand this world.

Over the next few days, Ovidiu spent time in the company of the three guardians, learning about the world hidden beneath the mountains. They showed him how to use the energy that flowed through the plants and the living stone of the earth.

He learned that all life in this world was interconnected, that nature had its own consciousness and that each thing had a protective spirit. The creatures shared with him ancient secrets about the cosmic balance and about other realms, equally hidden.

Ovidiu discovered that each inhabitant of the Garden had a clear role, and his role was that of "Bearer of Knowledge". He had to take a message back to his world about the importance of respecting nature and its mysteries. The Guardians explained that another gate would soon open, one that would allow him to return, but in order to do so, he had to swear to protect the secret of the Forbidden Garden and respect the connection between all worlds.

Finally, after a final meeting with Atarys, Vorath, and Lyral, Ovidiu headed for the gate that would bring him back. He said goodbye with a promise to preserve the knowledge he had gained and teach others to respect nature. When he stepped out into our world, the gate closed behind him, and the symbol disappeared from the rock, leaving everything as it had been before.

Ovidiu returned to the village, keeping the memory of the adventure and his promise to the Guardians. He had begun writing a book about the importance of respecting nature and how mountains hold mysteries that modern man has forgotten.

To anyone who asked him, he would say that “some things are not meant to be fully discovered, but only respected,” with a mysterious glint in his eye.
