The Pendulum Quests
The Twins and the Enchanted Pendulum

The Twins And the Enchanted Pendulum
Up up above so very high
Is where the angels gather to watch us through the wispy skies
Always there for us helping and guiding
They are always watching over us although they may be hiding
An angel is keeping her eye on the twin sisters growing up in an orphanage
Both identical twins so pretty and full of courage
Both hungry and dirty and dressed in rags without any wealth
Their mother and father sadly passed away from poor health
Both left growing up working their fingers to the bone
They happily get on with their daily chores without a moan or a groan
Hayley is busy working away
She overhears a conversation about her sister Lotty they say
She is to be sold and adopted tomorrow day
Splitting the twins up forever Hayley wishes she could stay
Just then a sparkling glow ignites
The enchanted pendulum has found its way to Hayley shining so bright
Hayley is shocked and left stunned gazing into the beautiful colours
She hears people approaching and hides it in her pocket,
so the lights go duller
Off she rushes to find her sister Lotty
To keep her from being sold to those parents so dodgy
The thought of being split up is unbearable
Hayley decides that being torn apart is just not acceptable
She shows Lotty the magical pendulum
They both wish for parent so loving and genuine
A secret pathway is lit for them both to follow
They will need to move quickly to escape the orphanage full of sorrow
Off they both scurry, with such haste in and in a hurry
Tired and hungry walking through the wildering woods so long
Hayley decides to cheer miserable Lotty up by whistling her favourite song
They are now rapidly losing the light
Up ahead they see a lit cottage in the night
“I wonder if we will be allowed to sleep here”
There are no other homes around, nothing near
A white witch opens her door
“If you could both help carry my fire wood then the drinks I will pour”
The white witch offers them food and shelter
For their hard work and labour
Tucked up tight and warm in bed
They both lay and rest their sleepy heads
Rise and shine through the crack of dawn
The lights streaming in as the curtains are drawn
Before the white witch waves them both off and on their merry way
She calls them back suddenly as she feels something magical to say
“I see your parents follow you in spirit and have a gift for you”
“The gift needs my spell to make it come though”
“Hayley the next time you whistle Lotty’s song,
it will send those near into a deep deep sleep”
This is your gift from your parents for you to keep
The white witch wishes them both well and good luck
Following the colourful pathway their eyes fixed and struck
The trail has ended at a willow tree deep in the woods
They’re confused and wonder if the pendulum has misunderstood
All of a sudden they hear whispering
And dust falling from the trees so shiny and glistening
A group of fairies so mystical start floating towards them
So tiny and dressed so pretty with sparkly gems
The fairies welcome the twins and ask for a favour
“The demons have stolen our fairy dust, will you be our savours”
The fairy dust enables them to fly
Also if they go without their dust for too long they will fall and die
“If we get your fairy dust back would you help us find some parents, please”
“We already have found your parents believe us we do not tease”
Off they go confronted by demons
Lotty is terrified crying and screaming
Hayley starts whistling in the hopes they will soon be dreaming
Off they all go falling fast asleep
They take back the fairy dust now giving it back to the fairies to keep
“Thank you so much you’re both so kind”
“Close your eyes now for your parents we will find”
The fairies cast a magical spell
And turn the twins into fairies as well
Both floating now they gasp at the fairy selves they each see
Even more overwhelmed their mum and dad appear floating as fairies!
They all rejoice reunited in the joyful songs and laughter
The family all lived happily ever after
