The Origin of Dreams
How We Met Their World
Did you ever wonder where dreams come from?
Once, long ago, there was a connection made. A metaphorical bridge built that links our world with one in which the metaphysical laws are so far outside our realm of understanding that we would only think them to be possible in our wildest dreams. This is no coincidence for in our unique altered state of consciousness which we enter when we shut our eyes at night is the precise and nearly the only moment - apart from daydreaming, when our eyes may be open - when we visit, if only temporarily, this other reality.
Things there are not what they seem. There are facts known that are not identifiable by any traditional sensical means. Upon looking at a building, it does not appear to be one's childhood home, upon talking to a person, they do not sound like your lover, when touching something, it does not feel as it would, and so on, yet, somehow, you know these things to be the case. It is, indeed, your school, your friend, or a sensation you cannot have known because you have not experienced it in your waking hours, nor would it have been possible for you to have, such as is the case with astronaut-like jump-flying down a flight of stairs.
When they created the link, the creators knew that in our waking hours, humans would not be able to handle the unfathomable differences between the two realms.
That's why we think that our dreams, our aspirations, that which we daydream about, are so wild and unlikely to realistically occur: they too live in this parallel realm. But what we don't realize is, everything in that realm has the potential for being possible in ours. We too could live that reality. It's not as far-fetched as we tend to think it is and the more we visit this realm, the stronger we make the link between our world and the other. Some people find it easier to travel to this alternate realm in their waking hours than most would ever dare. They don't fear its ambitious alternative like the majority does. Because of their courage and expanded capability, these rare individuals that hold valid passports to the alternate realm and earn frequent-traveler miles, those who know the trolls under the bridge by name, these unique few are dubbed dreamers.
