The Artist
Doubting in Dublin
Dublin wasn't the first place Leroy saw himself, but it's where he'd ended up. He may be in a new city, but no need to completely reinvent himself. No, he intended to remain the conman he'd always fancied himself to be. That's precisely why when the opportunity arose, he felt the compulsion to go for it.
Thus, he finds himself here, at 23:37 making an exchange with an art dealer - at least that's how he'll describe it to his mother. Presently, he's carefully making it happen, placing the cunning forgery in the spot where the original stood. "This Degas will fetch a pretty penny on the market," Leroy thinks to himself, "by the time anybody notices the difference, it'll be too late."
When the job's done and he's making his getaway, Leroy wonders whether he would rather give up this thievery and deceit business and become the artist he always dreamt of being. He entertains the thought for a moment, then, remembering his mother's doubts about the likelihood of success in the art world, he pushes it out of his mind and remains resolute in his conviction to stay a conman for the rest of his days.

Great arty story and thanks for sharing. Well done on your win. I also posted an art heist but took a very different approach and not as successful.
