The one you least expect

By Trina BaileyPublished 4 years ago 4 min read

Gia was a rapper that had it all beautiful, talented, money, fame, fortune. But behind closed doors, she is living a true nightmare. Someone has been stalking Gia. Gia began to develop paranoia. She barely wants to leave her Beverly Hills condo. In just three weeks, she had to perform one of her biggest concerts it’s a sold-out show. Gia has no idea how that concert will happen with her life in danger. It all started with inboxes then phone calls of heavy breathing. She thought maybe someone is playing tricks on her; she didn’t think much of it at first. Until one day, Gia received a package; she felt someone close to her sent the package. Gia got so excited and ripped open the box only to find a red negligee and note, “I want to see you in this when I watch you tonight.” The package sent shivers down her spine. Gia quickly called the police. She then called her manager and friend Eddy. Gia and Eddy grew up together, and Eddy also had a younger brother James. James was only a year apart from Eddy; he always had the biggest crush on Gia but never told her. When James heard the news, he came by as well. Gia called on her other friend Dana too. They all quickly rushed to her side to comfort her.

Eddy, Gia, James, and Dana sat there wondering who would be stalking Gia. James shouted out; maybe it’s just a crazed fan; Dana agreed. Gia looked at the two of them and nodded; perhaps you guys are right. Gia looked to Eddy for his answer. Eddy buried his face into the palms of his hands. Gia asked Eddy if he was ok and he answered, I’m not sure. What is it, Eddy? Gia asked. Finding out who this person is will be like finding a needle in a haystack. You have so many fans. Eddy grabbed Gia’s hand and looked at her Its going to be ok Gia. We will find out who this person is.

Gia laid in her apartment for days trying to make sense of everything that’s been happening. When she filed the police report, she thought something would come from it, but the police couldn’t help because there wasn’t enough evidence. Gia began to lose hope. She wanted to feel safe, especially during her live performances. Gia had less than two weeks before her concert, and she needs to know who was stalking her so that she can be at peace. Gia decided to look at her social media and go live to talk with her fans to keep her mind off of things. Gia noticed hundreds of messages she opened her inbox. There were thousands of messages from concerned fans she felt so loved. Gia pressed her live button and wait for her fans to arrive for her Live.

Gia’s live quickly grew with fans, and she looked at her phone and all the Hellos, and I love yous. Gia saw the concerned fans asking her if everything ok. Gia greeted everyone and reassured everyone she was okay. Gia continued her broadcast; an hour had passed. Gia scrolled through comments to answer some of the questions. But one particular question sent her into a panic. Why haven’t you worn my red negligee? Gia’s heart began to race. Gia looked at the comment and pressed on the profile, but it was private with no profile picture. The unknown user started to spam the same question repeatedly. Gia began to cry; she ends her live abruptly.

That night Gia could barely get any sleep. Gia tossed and turned, thinking about the mysterious profile. Gia’s phone notifications kept disrupting her from the loud ringtone to the flashing green notification light keeping her awake most of the night. Gia eventually silenced her phone, so she could try and get some rest. Gia lays there still, unable to get any rest; she called the only person she felt she could trust, her best friend Eddy. Eddy came over quickly; he instantly knew what to do. I will make you some tea. Gia thanked Eddy for coming over so fast in the middle of the night. Gia sipped her tea slowly, and within a few moments, Gia was fast asleep.

The following day Gia woke up only to find her arms and legs bound. Gia looked around her room, screaming for Eddy, but there was no answer. As Gia scanned her room looking for a way to cut the ropes that bound her, she looked down at herself, discovering she was wearing the red nightgown sent to her by the mysterious stalker. Gia knew she was in trouble, and the stalker is around; she began to worry about Eddy. A few minutes passed Gia could hear her front door close. Gia thought to herself; Eddy is the only person that has a key to her place. Gia could hear Eddy mumble in the next room as if his mouth is covered. Gia’s heart races as the footsteps approach. Gia looked up in shock to see James standing there with a paper bag. I bought you your favorite breakfast. James stood there with a menacing smile on his face.
