Nobody can hear a scream in the vacuum of space, or so they say but if it were possible, it would be coming straight out of my soul. Screaming at the top of my lungs, screaming so loud that my throat would bleed but luckily no one can hear me. In fact, you don't hear anything, and it is the utter silence that really gets to you.

I've lived in this tin can all of my life. I was born here on Cybele the great mother, the floating city above the earth endlessly orbiting. This is all I know. Breathing artificial filtrated air, moving with the synthesized gravitational pull. Everything heavily monitored down to the growth of my toenails and the eyes that are continuously watching are everywhere. Compliments of my great, great, great grandmother, thank you very much or maybe not. I don't know but maybe it is a curse to be here.

She was selected and totally oblivious I will add, to the very elite and secretive vetting process that took place under everyone's very noses. It began with a government ran phycological program that was operational for many years called The Ark, as they secret prepared their take over. It was supposed to be a perfect plan. The richest and most powerful with the means and will power to do as they please. Their very own perfect planet with whom they wanted to share it with, but something went terribly wrong. Doesn't it always. When will people get it! When will we just realize that we the people are the problem, the epidemy of imperfection.

It was simple really. So simple that no one suspected anything, the simplicity of it was pure genius. They introduced something called Facebook, an infinite database. You would load up all your personal information and create something called a profile. Unaware that the information that you were providing is all they needed to get started on their future plans and you were actually doing all the work for them.

After they collected all your information it would go through the first vetting process called The Basic which entailed demographics, age, job, history, race and political views. If you were chosen from The Basic, you would go to The Intermittent. This is where they monitored every single word that you searched on something called the internet with massive search engines with names like Google, Twitter, Bing. With the information they gathered you would receive points from categories and the higher the number the higher your chances.

You see if you didn't fit their idea persona you didn't make it to the last vetting, they called The Graduation. It was the final step, set up with random quiz testing like playing a game. For example, 'How smart do you think you are' or 'Do you know your history' and people would willingly volunteer to take these quizzes not realizing that they were either in or out. And I really shouldn't forget the main reason my very own great, great, great grandmother was chosen, talent. Yes, talent, intelligence, job skills that set you apart from all the other worthless humanity. At least that's how the elite felt about it.

My great, great, great grandmother was a very talented painter but that wasn't just it. It was the fact that she also was very intelligent and skilled in many areas of life. She scored the highest in the vetting process with problem solving, which was a must, considering that they would be embarking into unknown territories, the creation of their very own perfect world.

I am named after her Sammatha, Sammatha Connley, but my friends call me Sam, and if I'm reminded of how much I look like this dead woman one more time I think I will implode. It's my father that says it the most. He is such a traditionalist.
