I woke with a gasp again, I could barely catch my breath this time. “Cassie, it’s all right. It’s all right.” My brother rubbed my back, “Take deep slow breaths. There you go. Did you dream about the old world again?”
I nodded feeling flushed and afraid. I clutched the necklace that hung from my sun burned neck and clasped the heart shaped pendant on my reddened chest. The heat was cursing promises before sunset. We have to sleep in the day and hunt at night. Backwards I know, but others were afraid in the new world, afraid of people like me.
“Maybe you should throw that piece of junk away.” Caden suggested. “It gave you nothing but nightmares since the day you found it.”
I cut my eye to him. “You know why I can’t do that.” I lay my head flat on the dirt. “Let’s get back to sleep, we will need our energy for later.” I turned to my side with one hand still holding the pendant. It is the only way to see what happened in the old world and it was the only key to surviving this new one.
About a hundred years ago there used to be a western world. Stories of two continents; North and South America. They were advanced in many things but like the teacher’s pet, they were overconfident. They went from being a superpower to self-destructing the entire western hemisphere. Now what reigns there are wild animals and plants. Nature took back its land. I read, that the Amazon was once a small part of that world and it’s now nearly ¾ of the old world. There aren’t many people left from that time. The last world war was 2075, it’s now 3052.
There aren’t governments anymore, the people of the world did well to take care of that. The revolution coincided with the last world war, where the citizens of the world had awakened and began their spiritual connection back to mother earth and the higher vibrations around us. They dissolved a thing called religion. Although I don’t quite understand the concept of it, it sounds like the old world liked believing in fairytales and used different versions of those books to cause wars. Stupid, I know. No wonder they didn’t last.
The old-world beings were low vibrational beings who hadn’t awakened, who stayed here, in this dimension. Others who have awakened were able to inter dimensional travel. There are seven dimensions, and we are the lowest ranking in vibration.
My brother and I have been trying to awaken so that we can leave this dreadful place. I read in books that the old world used to attend a place called school, where they would learn useless things that did not assist to their actual survival in life. Here we go off of vibrational energy, we work towards awakening and then ascend to other dimensions. The fastest way to do that is to match another’s energy, usually a higher one and build off of one another together. This creates harmony and balance, we are the worst at it.
I want to visit the other dimensions so badly. There are many and other races we have yet to meet. We get a few visitors, but we live in the lowest vibrational dimension, who would want to visit here? Anyways, I think I’m on my way to awakening. Since I found this necklace, I can see certain things from the old world through vivid dreams and it strengthens my intuition in the present. Once I’m enlightened I want to live with the Lumarians. Their dimension is said to be the most advanced, high vibrational home to the most beautiful, enlightened race.
But of course, there is also dimensional law and rules about time surfing. That is another perk of awakening, time surfing. Time is linear therefore it is a place we can travel back and forth to, however only the highest vibrational can. Usually, they don’t even want to time surf, the first thing they do is travel to Lumaria since only about one percent of humans reach that high vibration.
I wonder then, why does this necklace show me the old world and the present? Isn’t that also considered time surfing?
“Cassie, wake up. It’s moonlight out.” I rolled on to my back and stretched. Time to gather food. At least three times a week we gather at night. We gather food from the land and only trade for cooked food in daylight. Why? The heart necklace. We were starving until I found it. Everyone gathers in the day, all of the new world. Berries, tomatoes, nuts, bananas, carrots, you name it. They leave nothing for a pair of orphans. One day, I dropped to my feet from starvation in a corn field and I saw this glint in between the green stalks. I reached down and found the necklace. Since that day I have my vivid dreams and it showed us many ways to survive including how to gather at night.
“Caden, grab the baskets.”
“You repaired the hole?”
“I did. Let’s go. Oh, and don’t forget the monster.”
Caden chucked it into the basket.
“Hot as the dessert in the day and colder than snow at night.” Or so I hear. The old world ruined this beautiful thing called snow. It sounds made up honestly. How could soft frozen rain fall from the sky and create a covering on the ground? Sometimes I think these things are lies, but the necklace showed me snow once, I cried. It was so beautiful.
I began picking blueberries from a bush. Caden picked a few beans. The necklace led us to the food. I heard footsteps and voices. I dropped flat to the ground.
“Come on! There’s no monster at night bro! Let’s just get some food and go.” A mans boot was inches away from my face.
“I don’t know man, the locals say it could be a spirit guarding the food.”
The was a loud crack.
“What was that!” Said the first man.
“Shhh.” Said the second. Silence. I picked my head up from the ground.
Suddenly in the shadows was a large, long figure racing toward us.
“The spirit!”
The men ran as fast as they could.
Caden plopped down beside me and held his laugh.
When we got back we had three baskets full of food for the rest of the week. We turned the lights on our little apartment. “Can you believe in the old-world people had to pay for light? I’m so glad we live in a world with no government.” What lies would we have believed?
“Ha, Yeah. Like imagine if we did have one and they told us we had to trade for things like light, water, and a home! How insane would that be?”
“That would be crazy. Only idiots would actually believe you have to trade for necessities. We may live in a low vibrational dimension, but it gives us everything we need.”
“Cass, this dimension gives us the bare minimum. I can’t wait for us to awaken, to travel and really live.”
I popped a blueberry in my mouth. “You know in one of my dreams, the necklace showed me that in the old-world people ate animals.”
Caden made a face. “That’s disgusting. No wonder they destroyed the world. Animals are sacred and kind. I can’t imagine just biting one of them. Yuck! They smell bad too. Imagine a mouth full of fur, flesh and blood, Gross!”
I scrunched my face and looked at our loot. “What will you trade for this week?”
He looked around the apartment. “I think I might trade corn for some shoes. If we can, maybe all the peaches for a blanket.”
“A new blanket would be nice. The night get so cold.”
The following morning, we head out to the marketplace. I covered half my face and wrapped my head from the blistering sun and sand scratched my face. I gazed over the apartments, which are identical to ours, I wondered, how do others remember which is there home? It’s all exactly the same. It was about a fifteen-minute walk. The marketplace was already busy, people trading goods. I passed by a stand with freshly baked bread, my stomach grumbled. The owner looked at our basket.
“Two peaches for a loaf.” I looked down at the bread and shook my head.
“No thank-you.” We needed that blanket more.
“Ah, Cassie! Come here child.” The old village witch. I learned so much from this woman. Everyone loves her. She cures us with plants and foods. We all try to donate as much as possible to help.
“Hi Inna. I brought something for you.”
“Rosemary!” She sniffed the twigs and smiled widely. “This will help so many sickly. Thank-you Cassie.”
Caden walked in behind me with a heavy basket of peaches. “I’ll go trade these and meet you back here.”
“You know, in the old-world people had to us currency to trade. It was called purchasing.”
“Currency? What is that?”
“You know the metal that the old-world museum is made of?”
“Coin?”
“Yes, coin. That was a currency, called money. They would work all day and night to earn that to buy things.”
“Why didn’t they just trade?”
“Well, Cassie. The governments did not allow that. There was a low vibrational order. And many people died trying to acquire as much currency as possible. Many were killed for it.”
I gasped. “Killed? Why?”
“Because it was a means of survival. And in the old world when you make some thing hard to get that you need to survive, you become low vibrational.”
“That’s terrible! I hate that, that world even existed!”
“Me too Cassie. No let’s talk about your ascension. Have you been cleansing? Talking to your guides?”
“Yes, I energy cleanse with my crystals daily. I chat with my spirit guides often. I do my moon rituals. But my dreams, they are stopping me.”
“What do you mean?”
“Well, ascension is about moving forward, higher vibrational energy. All I dream about is the old world. How can I move forward that way?”
“How often?”
“Every night.”
“Every night! Cassie, tell me more.”
“Well, it started with this necklace.” Cassie pulls the necklace out of her shirt and shows Inna. The instant Inna touched it, it zapped her hand back. Suddenly a Lumarian appears.
Shocked Inna and Cassie freeze.
“Time surfing is illegal, and punishment is severe.” A tall man with long stark white hair, lavender eyes and odd clothing looked at us. “Which one of you is responsible?”
Silence.
“Which one?” His voice bellowed from his core.
“It was me.” I said shaking.
He walked up to me in two graceful strides and looked at me like I was vermin. “How? You have not ascended. How?”
“She is gifted.” Said Inna.
The man huffed as if I was beneath being gifted of scratching my own rear. He then grabbed me by the arm, “Off to Lumarian prison with you.”
Cassie screamed as the Lumarian man began to glow brightly. Caden ran into the tent just as Cassie was taken to the highest dimension, Lumaria.
Cassie finally got her wish to visit Lumaria, but as its prisoner.
