The Night I Couldn’t Sleep

What if your insomnia was never a coincidence?

By AhMeDdPublished 5 months ago 1 min read

I couldn’t sleep that night.

No matter how many times I turned over, closed my eyes, or tried to calm my thoughts, something inside me refused to rest.

At 2 a.m., I gave up. I got out of bed and sat by the window. The street outside was empty, quiet — too quiet. That’s when I saw it.

An envelope. A plain white envelope lying on the sidewalk, directly in front of my house.

My first thought was: What could it be? Who would leave something at this hour?

I went downstairs, opened the door, and picked it up. My name was written on it in dark ink, as if the writer pressed too hard with the pen.

I opened it slowly. Inside, there was only one line:

“You are awake for a reason. Follow the signs.”

My heart pounded. I looked around, but the street was empty. No footsteps, no sound, nothing.

I stood there in the silence of the night, holding that strange message, wondering if it was all just a dream… or the beginning of something I wasn’t ready for.
