The Mysterious Tomato Ghost of Sable Street

Le mystérieux fantôme de tomate de la rue Sable

By Khalid laakikiPublished about a year ago 1 min read

On a Halloween night filled with mystery and ghosts, the children of Sable Street gathered to celebrate the spookiest night of the year. Each child donned a costume scarier than the last, ranging from zombies and ghosts to mummies. But the one that caught everyone's attention was Jad’s costume; he had dressed up as a giant tomato! Yes, a giant tomato!

The children began their trick-or-treating adventure, moving from house to house while shouting "Trick or treat!" until they reached Mr. Ramsey’s house. Mr. Ramsey was the eccentric old man known for filling his garden with spooky lights and fascinating decorations. When they knocked on his door, he swung it open with a sudden movement and started to tell a tale about a ghost that haunted his garden.

Mr. Ramsey said, "In this very garden lives the ghost of a giant tomato named Tom the Tomato. He loved Halloween so much that he decided never to leave this world!" The children burst into laughter, unable to imagine a ghost tomato. But Jad, in his giant tomato costume, felt like the star of the story!

They continued their candy-collecting journey and, when they reached Mrs. Farida’s house, she offered them hot soup and warned, "Beware! There’s a tiny ghost sneaking into the cups of soup." They peered into the cups with anticipation to find a small piece of tomato floating. Jad exclaimed, "Looks like Tom the Tomato ghost is following us!" and everyone laughed even harder.

As the evening wore on, they all gathered in the neighborhood square, sharing candy and telling spooky stories. Suddenly, a small dog wearing a giant tomato costume appeared, running and jumping among them. Jad shouted, "It’s Tom the Tomato ghost!" and everyone rolled with laughter.

At the end of the night, as the children’s bags overflowed with candy and their faces with smiles, they realized that this Halloween would be one of the most memorable. They had shared scares and laughter, learning that fear can be fun when experienced with friends they love—even if it’s the fear of a giant tomato ghost!
