The Moment of Realization.

Characters :

• THE MAIN CHARACTER - KACE ( A BOY, 24 YEARS OLD, A GRADUATE, UNEMPLOYED )

• HIS MOM - IVY ( 52 YEARS OLD, A WIDOW )

• HIS LATE DAD - KETI ( 55 YEARS OLD, PASSED AWAY BY AN ACCIDENT, A GOVERNMENT OFFICER )

• HIS YOUNGER SISTER - ISHA ( 21 YEARS OLD, A MEDICAL STUDENT )

• HIS FRIEND - MARTIN (A FASHION DESIGNER, OWNS A BOUTIQUE)

What is life? Who am I? Is my existence valuable?

KACE walks along the lively road at night. Lost in contemplation and appearing fatigued, his face ghostly pale, he is unsure of where he is or where he is heading, but he perseveres in his walk.

KACE POV

What should I do now? How can I face Mom and Isha? How am I going to pay Isha's college fees? How should I pay the house rent? What should I do?

All these thoughts ran through his mind, and his phone buzzed.

** TEXT MESSAGE

Isha - Mom and I are waiting for you. When are you coming home? Mom cooked your favorite today. Come home fast **

It's been three months since Dad passed away. I never knew what it felt like to take over a family responsibility before. We only have less money left in Dad's insurance money. If this continues we won't have much money left for food. I have had more than 15 interviews till now. Not even a single company hired me. What is the use of living? I'm no use to my family. I'm just a burden to them. I can't even do anything for them. I can only help them when I die. They can save some money if I die.

Thoughts raced through Kace's mind until the sound of a passing truck snapped him back to reality. He looked around, he realized he was out of the city, in an unfamiliar place. The road stretched out before him, empty and silent. When he looked around again, he noticed he was close to a bridge. With his thoughts spiraling, he made a quick decision and jumped off the bridge.

ISHA POV

Why is there no response from Kace? It's already an hour. Let's call Martin.

** A PHONE CALL

Martin - Hello Isha. Is everything okay at home? You called me late at night.

Isha - Hey Martin, do you know where Kace is? I texted him an hour ago. He is not responding to any calls or texts.

Martin - I don't see him today. He might be roaming outside. I will bring him home. You take care of Mom.

Isha - Bring him home Martin. Mom and I are worried. He gave an interview in the morning.

Martin - You don't worry. I will bring him home. You take care of Mom. **

Martin found Kace near the bridge by his mobile location. By the time Martin went near the bridge. He only saw Kace's mobile phone. Kace is nowhere to be seen. When Martin glanced down from the bridge he saw Kace on the verge of grass and river. Martin rushed down from the steps used to clean the river. Martin tried to wake Kace. Kace didn't respond.

MARTIN POV

Kace, wake up! wake up! what happened to you? Kace stop acting. I'm scared. Wake up, you idiot. This is not the time for jokes. Wake up! ( Kace was not responding.)

Martin admitted Kace to the hospital. Martin informed the Kace family. The Doctor said Kace was dead. Kace's Mom fainted after hearing the doctor. She was paralyzed from the shock. Martin and Isha are worried about Kace's mom. After examining Kace's mom the doctor said that she was too old for treatment. If she gets treatment at this age it will affect her body more and she will die quicker than expected. After hearing from the Doctor, Martin and Isha decide to take Kace's mom home.

After her discharge and Kace's funeral, Isha gave up on her dream, quit college, and started looking for a job. She has to do many part-time jobs for a living. She can't get a proper job because he dropped out of college. While she was returning home late at night, men were trying to assault her. One day she was sobbing hard at home. She saw her mom lying on the bed with no sense and asking for her brother's photo "Why did you die? You were not a burden to us. Your death brought a burden to us. Your presence was enough for us. We never asked anything from you. " Isha is sobbing hard while asking. Suddenly, the vision of Isha sobbing fades away. Out of nowhere the sound of someone saying " Kace, wake up. What happened to you son? Brother wake up !! " is heard.

KACE WOKEUP. When he looked around, he was lying on the bed at his home. His Mom, Isha, and Martin were near his bed.

KACE POV

KACE INNER VOICE - What am I doing here? This is my home. I died, right? How am I alive? Mom was paralyzed, right? What's happening?

AM I DREAMING ALL THIS TIME?

THE REALIZATION HITS..

Martin - Hey! idiot, how long you will sleep? You scared all of us. Waste fellow.

Ivy - Son, why were you sleeping near the river?

Kace - Me? Sleeping?

Martin signaled Kace to stay silent.

Isha - Brother you scared all of us. Go fresh up. Mom and I will ready the table for dinner. Martin, join us.

Martin - For sure Isha. Aunty cooks delicious food. Let's eat before he joins ( Martin dragging Isha and Kace's mom to the food table)

As Kace's mom and Isha arrange the table. Martin came near Kace and sat with him.

Martin - Did you try to kill yourself there?

Kace - How do you know?

Martin - I'm your best friend from childhood. I know you very well. Don't ever try those stupid things again. Who will take care of your family? Of course, I will be there to take care of them but, you know even my business is not running well.

Kace - You know what Martin? When I was unconscious I dreamt of the consequences of my death. It scared the shit out of me. Thanks, my friend. I love you.

Kace showers Martin's face with kisses while Martin is shouting for help. Kace came back after fresh up. Isha, Kace's Mom, and Martin are waiting for him at the table. After seeing that visual Kace regretted his decision back and had dinner with them. He felt like a cute family. While having dinner with them. Kace's phone buzzed!

** TEXT MESSAGE

Congratulations, [KACE]! It is with immense pleasure that we extend an offer to you to join [RIZZLO DANCE ] as the new [MEDIA MANAGER].

Kace shouted in the excitement. Isha, Martin, and Kace's mom were shocked to see his reaction. Kace announced to everyone that he got an offer. Everyone felt so happy and relaxed. Then Kace's Mom said " See I told you, god guides us. God always guides us. THE SILENT GUIDE.
