Once upon a time, a poor woodcutter lived near a forest. Every day, he went into the forest to cut wood, which he would then sell in the city. Along with this, he often dug the soil in the hope of discovering a hidden treasure that could change his life. Each day, he carried a pickaxe and an axe, filled with hope and determination.

One day, while digging in search of treasure, he stumbled upon a large pot. Seeing it, his heart leapt with excitement. “Surely,” he thought, “there must be some treasure hidden inside; that’s why someone buried it near this tree in the forest.” Overjoyed, he reached out to check the contents of the pot. To his disappointment, it was empty. In anger, he placed the pot behind a tree and continued digging, hoping to find something valuable, but his hands remained empty. Frustrated, he threw his axe beside the tree and sat down, exhausted.

Suddenly, his eyes fell on the pot again. To his amazement, the axe he had thrown into it had multiplied, and now there were a hundred axes inside the pot! Shocked and thrilled, he realized that this was no ordinary pot—it was a magical pot, capable of multiplying anything placed inside it. Overjoyed, he took the pot home and hid it in a room.

That night, he decided to test the magic again, this time using mangoes. After a short while, he discovered that the single mango he placed inside had multiplied into a hundred mangoes. His belief in the pot’s magic grew stronger. From then on, he used the pot to produce gold coins and precious items, which he sold and gradually became wealthy.

Despite his newfound wealth, the woodcutter remained kind-hearted. Whenever a poor person came to him, he never let them leave empty-handed. His generosity became famous throughout the country, and stories of his sudden wealth and the magical pot spread far and wide.

Even the king of the land heard about this magical pot. The king was extremely greedy. Despite having a large treasure of his own, his desire for more made him covet the pot. He thought, “If I get this pot, my treasure will increase even further.” Driven by greed, the king ordered his servants to bring the woodcutter and the pot to the palace. The servants obeyed and captured the woodcutter along with his pot, bringing them before the king.

The king examined the pot, but in his eagerness, he accidentally stepped into it. To his shock, the magical pot multiplied him into a hundred identical kings. Among them, only one was real; the others were magical duplicates. All the kings, driven by greed and the desire to claim the pot for themselves, began fighting each other. In the chaos, they destroyed one another. In the end, the real king also perished, leaving no survivors.

Meanwhile, the woodcutter quietly picked up his magical pot and returned home safely, untouched by the disaster. From that day on, he continued living peacefully, using the pot wisely and helping others whenever he could.

Children, the story teaches a valuable lesson: greed and envy are dangerous. If someone possesses more than you do, never feel jealous. Instead, be grateful for what you have, and remember that contentment and generosity are far greater treasures than gold or jewels.
