There is a story that has been passed down from generation to generation amongst the zuxia. This story tells of a lord that was said to be the God of the lunar. This God, however, was not like the other Seven Gods. It was believed that he was the very same God that fell into the world and shattered it. This God is known to be the very father of corruption itself so the story is not often spoken about, however, whispers still get around that this Lord of the moon is still worshipped till this day.
A long time ago, there were two lun dragon brothers who were lords of Zuxin Island. They created what the island is today, a lush jungle of greenery and large life and lived in harmony along with the habitants on the land, however, something came between the two brothers. One day, the younger of the two siblings began to reject the teachings that his older brother would show him in order to combat against the corruption from within. He would reject the notion that the corruption that plagued their dragonkin could not be cured by the seven Gods while praying to them. He began to listen to the false words of the Fallen One who claimed himself to be The God of the Lunar and would aid the younger brother in his struggle against the corruption. Not realizing that this God was non other than Malacath, the younger brother was tricked into praising this God of the moon thus growing the False One in power. To show his gratitude to the younger brother's ignorance, he'd grant him power beyond measure. It did not vanquish the corruption inside of the folly brother, but rather enhanced it, growing him in strength, but it left the brother blinded to the goodness that his older brother was teaching him. This interruption in the cleansing of the younger brother caused the two to clash with one another in a fatal battle that forced the older brother to slay his only sibling.
Though the two brothers' battle of inner conflict seemed to be at an end with the older brother morning the death of his younger kin years later, the influence of corruption would find a way to bring the fallen brother back to life. The Lunar Lord would insert himself into the mortal affairs of the lun brothers once more and bring the heavily corrupted brother back to life. With vengeance on his mind, the once loving younger brother was filled with rage and hatred towards his brother and sought to bring him down once and for all. Despite the heaviness that weighed his heart, the older brother would fight against his corrupted brother once more.
In a moment of hindsight, the older brother would foresee the uprising of his brother a second time. In order to prevent another tragedy from happening, he would seal him away inside of the prayer orbs that adorned his neck. The older brother was fatally wounded during the battle and soon fell to his fate, leaving the orbs that contained the tainted brother to fall and scatter throughout Zuxin Island, thought to be lost forever. These three orbs have since been found and secured by their zuxia guardians to keep the tainted brother from escaping.
The Lunar Lord seemed to have slipped from the history of time, never to be spoken of again. It is believed that he had been found and punished by one of the seven Gods named Roroka who came to the God of the Moon in a guise of a mortal female. It is known that the Fallen One tends to court and copulate with many different females of any race and species. Roroka had successfully tricked the God into courting her, but would reveal herself in her true Goddess form while the Fallen One was at his most venerable. She would forever be known as the Goddess who played the Fallen One at his own game, turning his trickery of Kaiden and Yara against him. She placed a curse on him, turning him into a small furry beast with a long tail, funny face, and big ears, the honest image of how she viewed him. Turned into the form of a amonkin, the Fallen One was not only humiliated, but striped of his Godly powers, forcing him to flee that form into hiding, leaving only but a shade of his former self in the cursed body.
Though the cursed form of the Fallen One had been abandoned, there was still conscious life that dwelled in it. This new body of life was left stranded by its owner, forced to wander the land in a lost state of mind and being. It was forever plagued with memories of who it was and what it once was, tormenting its fragile mind and sense of being. Though he knew himself to be the Lunar Lord, he did not know what that meant for him. All he was left with was the impression the Fallen One left behind. He saw himself as a trickster of life and tormentor of others. So he became as such, often causing chaotic problems for the mortals of the island. Because he did not have Godly powers within him, he would use what he could to cause as much mayhem as possible. He would steal from the locals, deceive them into having them believe he was a God, pit them against each other to cause fights and even wars and using them for his biddings, whether it was to steal for him, serve him, or fall to his every desired whims.
Whenever this false God would be found to be faulty in who he believed he was, he would flee into hiding. He'd often use a method of escape in the form of mist or a "shadow form", slipping into the shadows without a trace. This form of trickery was also often used as deception when swindling others out of their possessions. He would use another form of himself as a distraction while his true form would pluck away the belongings, leaving the victim baffled when the form they thought was real would suddenly vanish before their eyes. This is a technique that has been taught to some of the locals known as cloning or "shadow clone". It is a valuable defense mechanism that thieves often use, but can be applied to anyone who is willing to learn it and use it in alternate ways other than for stealing. This teaching of shadow cloning would not be introduce until after the curse of the Lunar Lord had been lifted.
While the Lord of the moon had been lost in his ways, succumbing to the false sense of himself, he would, one day, find the sole person that would save him from himself. One night, while he was on one of his escapades of stealing from local villages, he came across a being that would question his very existence, but would also give him the answers he never thought he needed. She was a mortal female, not just any female, but an akin. She worked as a slave for the highborne lun kin and stayed with them within their temple up in Kashmirr. Out of all the mortals he had callously stolen from and deceived without a shred of care, laughing as they scramble to catch him or even make sense of his antics, this lone being struck him to his core.
This night was unlike any other. During his escape, one of the lun guards of the royal family managed to capture him. He was held in a cage and sentenced to be executed by the morning. The luns were known to have strong magica that repelled the otherwise reduced power of the Lunar Lord while in his cursed state. He was forced down by the use of not only alu but aeo magica in a duel effort to subdue him. The air magic was used to rebuke him while he was fleeing while the water magic was used to weigh him down. Once secured, they placed him inside of a small cage where he was to await his sentence the next day. With no way out, the cursed God was forced to succumb to his defeat. He wept that night, alone and afraid. He revisited his nightmares of who he was and why he did the things that he felt compelled to do. In the throws of his woes he was approached by a young woman. She came to him as quiet as a shadow and spoke just as quietly. She had long, dark hair and almond shaped brown eyes. Her lips were pink and stuck out in a permanent pout.
This unknown women not of beastkin origin did not come to him to ridicule him like the others did, but rather sympathized with him. She sat down in front of his cage and spoke with him in a gentle tone. She asked him questions such as who he was and where he came from seeing as she had never seen the likes of him before. There was no beastkin or akin like him in the world of Ein. He told the dark haired woman what he could remember, that he was a God of the Moon that had been cursed by another God for something terrible he had done. Although these memories he held were not his, he still believed they belonged to him. The woman asked him if he believed that he was this God of the Moon that had committed terrible crimes enough to be punished by the other Gods. It took the amonkin some time to mull over this question for he had the same question in mind, but never put much thought into it. He didn't have many memories of his former self save for the ones that depicted him as someone awful, but he always felt that it was in contrast to how he felt within himself. To have someone else see that relieved him and made him look to the woman for the first time with full attention.
She was an image of beauty, with long dark hair and feminine features, she was the epitome of what the Lord thought the word soft would be. She spoke to him with kindness and he could feel that course through him, like a quenching wave of compassion. Even if he was to be put to death soon, he found himself falling in love with this woman for she was beautiful inside and out. The two spoke moments more, the woman confessing that the amonkin was quite unique as a strange looking beast in her eyes. Though he looked similar to an akin, he still held features of an apex. He even had an apposable thumb. His size was also questionable for he was very small for an apex.
Having this pointed out to him surprised the Lunar God at first, then filled him with wonder. He asked the woman about herself and her story. The woman explained that she was a slave for the highborne tailons of the temple and despite the Lunar Lord not understanding what a slave was, he could feel a sense of sadness conveyed by her. He asked the woman if she was happy, a word he himself had never uttered before now. The woman seemed startled by this before sadly admitting that she was indeed unhappy. She longed to be free and away from the tailons' abuse and use of nobility to look down on her. She may have been just a simple akin, but she still held her pride as a living being and wanted to be treated as such. Like the Lunar Lord , she too felt trapped in a cage, forced to be something she was not meant to be.
The Lunar Lord felt a sudden connection with the slave woman the more they talked with each other, a feeling that he could not explain. It was as if he wanted to be bound to this woman forever, even die for her even if he were to be put to death already. The amonkin reached out with his furry paw and placed it on the woman's hand, consoling her as she silently wept. This physical touch between the two different yet similar beings was the very thing that would break the curse over the Lord of the Moon for when their hands met, The amonkin was no longer a small, furry beast, but had changed into a normal sized male akin before the woman's very own eyes. The break in the curse would further help the Lunar Lord escape his fate.
One of the tailon royal guards came in to check on their prisoner only to find a random, strange male akin staring bewildered at him. The guard looked alarmed and quickly released the cured Lunar Lord from the tiny cage before he would sound the alarm to the other guards that the amonkin had escaped. The guard would exclaim that the trickster had used some kind of magica to switch with the male akin in his place. This caused the guards to scramble in search of the amonkin, allowing the two newly formed lovers to slip out of view and into the darkness. The two would go on to live a long life hidden from the rest of the world. They would have a secret wedding with words of bonding matrimony and a ceremony created entirely in the ways of what they believed to be the act of true love.
They would go on to have many children of multiple generations. Even with the curse lifted from the Lunar Lord, their first born son would be born as a furry, small beastkin with big ears and a funny face, much like the Lord's amonkin form. This struck fear into the Lunar Lord's heart. He had believed that he had carried the curse on to his son and sought to rid of the tiny form of corruption. One day, when the mother was away, the Lunar Lord would perform one last heinous act out love. He would attempt to murder his first born with his bare hands, to strangle the new life he helped give birth to, but the love in his heart won over the failed logic in his mind and he'd spare the boy's life, having fallen deeper in love with his young. He cradled the strange looking thing into his arms and cried, overwhelmed with emotions.
Though he would never hide anything from his beloved wife, he would never speak of this day and would carry the weight till his dying breath after having lived a long and happy life. The first born son would grow up as the prince of the Lunar Lord. His name would go down in history as Khan, Prince of the Sunar, King of the Amonkin and trickster of them all.
