The Beginning

Thousands of years ago when both the magic and non-magic worlds were united, there was peace. Magic was everywhere and flowed through the earth like a stream of water. Fairies zipped through the forest spreading life to nature, dragons and griffins were soaring high in the skies, watching what was happening below, mermaids and water spirits ruled the oceans, gliding through the water like it was air. Harmony was present all around the world, a union between magical and non-magical alike, life was so beautiful.

Shattered Union

It was peaceful for a while and life was flourishing, the grass was green and the air was pure. Unfortunately there is an end to everything, there was an uprising of humans who thought all magic was evil, they vowed to destroy all magic, they called themselves The Dextera Vitae. All of magic kind wasn't worried about the group, after all, they were just humans, but after years of The Dextera Vitae going unchecked, their army had grown. They started with spreading the news about getting rid of magic, but they got more and more extreme over time, from harassing witches to publicly executing them. Nobody was safe, not even the humans trying to protect the witches, anybody with association was killed. Years had passed and The Dextera Vitae was done with letting them be the stronger beings, it was their turn to rise and the only way to get power was to fight. The Vitae waged war on all magical beings, there could only be one winner. Fairies flew high and the witches and took the earth from below them, but they were outnumbered. The war had lasted for years, 7 to be exact, both had experienced a tremendous amount of loss but there was a clear winner, and it wasn't the magical beings. The humans had wiped out millions of magical beings and some have gone extinct and will never be able to see daylight again.

The Split

A very special group of magical beings known as The Council were the strongest of all magical beings, they were known as gods. They had accepted they lost the war, but they had to preserve what was left of them, they couldn't risk magic being lost forever. To save magic they had use an ancient spell known as "Separatum Orbis Terrarum". It was an emergency spell to split the worlds in case magic was on the verge of extinction. As the spell took affect, magic on earth started to fade. The life in the forest dimmed, the birds sang a sad tune, the waters darker, the air more empty then a void. All magic had been moved into another place, but as magic started fading, The Council blessed a heart shaped locket and swore, "whoever finds and wears this locket will be the link between the two worlds and re-unite them, but this time, we will win the war they waged.". Magic was completely gone now, but there were still spirits lingering around who didn't want to move on, some stayed, others watched the locket. Thousands of years had passed and magic had been forgotten about, people still told stories but over the years they changed. Nobody had found the locket yet, the city the locket was in was deserted. Nobody had been there for thousands of years. After the war people were told it was a cursed land, so they had all left to find another home.

A Dead Future

The year was now 6021, loud drones flying overhead doing their daily deliveries, the air was polluted with smoke and the only birds you saw were in cages, the oceans were filled with garbage, fishes were trapped in tanks, the forests were cut down, animals were being killed for fun, the stars were gone, the only lights in the sky were from planes and drones. The world was in danger and they don't even know.

A Link Was Born

The winds howled and whistled on this dark night, thousands of cars honking, all filled with people who want to go home, people sitting outside bars looking for their next dealer, but it was a peaceful night for Emily and Peter Vitae, they knew their baby was gonna be born today and were filled with joy. Life had blessed them with a child, but they didn't know who she would become. Willow Vitae was born on February 19th 6001 at midnight. She had orange hair, just like her mother, eyes like her father, smile of her grandmother, in Emily and Peter's eyes, she was perfect. She was a very calm and shy girl, didn't want to be alone, but didn't want to be with other people. She was in the middle. Willow loved the earth and archeology, it was fascinating to her the creatures, the decisions her ancestors made, forgotten cities. Willow had hoped one day she would be able to discover land or make a scientific breakthrough. Willow didn't know much about her ancestors, just that they were "warriors who killed evil beings" but she never really believed in all that, she believed in more of a scientific view of the world. Willow went through school never really having friends, a purpose, she was just there, never stood out, never fit in, but one thing was for sure, she was gonna be an archeologist.

The Expedition of Life

20 years had passed, Willow was old enough to enroll into the Life Expedition which was a journey to unventured lands, she had waited years for this moment, and now it's finally here. She smiles brightly filling her forms out, she finishes the last signature. Willow was excited to see the nature, the possible forgotten city, a land where nobody has stepped in for thousands of years, the very thought of it made her excited. The Expedition was months away, she was so excited. Months turned into weeks, weeks turned into days, days turned into hours. The Expedition was here before she knew it. She packed her bags days before, making sure to include her notebook and equipment. Willow gets on the expedition bus and the group heads off to a forest that has been unventured for thousands of years, it's now known as The Lost Lands. There were rumors about that place, if you go in, you won't come out, that was the most common rumor about The Lost Lands. As the sun set the group finally arrived just outside Lost Lands, they set up camp right on the outskirts of the city. The night was quieter then in the city, much much quieter. The stars were visible from here, no city lights, no drones, no cars, it was peaceful. For willow and some of the other expeditioners, this was the first time for them to hear silence. Everyone was fast asleep, but Willow found herself awake and not ready to sleep, she wanted to take in the nature she doesn't normally see. She walks outside, takes a deep breath. The air is crisp here, the silence spoke louder then any noise she's heard before, but there was something louder, she heard a ringing from the forest, it wasn't loud, but it was calling to her, it wasn't in the air, it was in her head. She followed the noise, as it grew louder she saw something glowing in the distance, she moved closer and closer towards it. The ringing was getting louder after each step she took, her heart was beating faster and faster, the wind was howling and the trees and plants were swaying from left to right. That was when she saw a glowing heart shaped locket, the ringing stopped, the wind stopped howling. All of nature stopped in it's tracks, it was almost as if nature was staring at her soul. She was scared, but she knew the locket was special. She puts the locket around her neck and her mind is flooded with images of the war between humans and magic kind. Her mind is filled with rage, her heart filled with hatred and her soul filled with magic. She was the link between two worlds.
