The Last Roomđź“–

Some places remember more than you think

By ElaheMindStoriesPublished 5 months ago • 1 min read

She booked the cheapest hotel room she could find.

One night. No questions asked.

Room 313.

The hallway was quiet. Too quiet.

The carpet smelled like mildew and old smoke.

As she unlocked the door, something cold brushed her arm—

But no one was there.

Inside, the air was thick. Stale.

The TV was unplugged but flickered for a second as she walked in.

She blamed it on stress. She was running. Hiding.

She didn’t care where she slept, as long as no one found her.

She locked the door. Closed the curtains.

Collapsed on the bed fully clothed.

At 3:13 AM, she woke up.

Not from a sound—

But from a feeling.

That she wasn’t alone.

Her phone buzzed.

No Caller ID. One new voicemail.

Trembling, she hit play.

It was her voice.

Whispering.

Don’t move. It sees you.

She dropped the phone. Looked around.

Nothing.

Until she turned toward the mirror.

There were two reflections.

One was hers.

The other was... smiling.

She screamed, ran to the door—

But the lock wouldn’t budge.

She pounded on the wood. No answer.

From the corner of the room, something moved. Crawling.

She turned around just in time to see the reflection walking out of the mirror.

Smiling wider now.

The next morning, the maid knocked.

No answer.

Room 313 was empty.

Bed untouched.

Curtains closed.

Only a cracked phone lay on the floor—

Still recording.
