Benny made her tea every morning, even after she was gone. The tea cup sat steaming on the kitchen table, a habit he could not shake.
He would whisper to the empty chair, tell her about his day, the weather, the cat, how much he misses her, how much he loves her.
One morning, the cup was empty when he returned. Lipstick lightly smudged the rim. The chair creaked.
A breeze grazed his ear: “Too much honey, again.” He dropped the cup. Shards scattered. Silence. He smiled, swept them up, and boiled water.
Tomorrow’s blend would be perfect. Less honey.

Sorry Benny 😭 heart breaking. It's painful when someone you loved leave you 😢
such a lovely little ghost story
I thought this was lovely. I think it’s comforting to know the person is still ‘there’ even after they’ve gone.
Beautiful. Heart-warming ghost story. A well crafted drabble. Thank you. After finding a lot of non-fiction in fiction and writers who can’t even write a coherent grammatically correct bio, it was a pleasure to read this.
Wow, that was a great cliffhanger, Susan. A ghost? A murder? It's all up to us!
Ooo thismade me think, reminding me of the book I am reading at the moment, "The midnight Library" I will write a drabble today as I am yet to publish one
I'm sorry for my confusion but did she come as a ghost and drank it?
Wonderful poet
