The Knights of the Hood

Long ago during the first holy war Lucifer and his demon legions had become stronger than ever before. They knew they couldn’t conquer heaven so they decided to close off earth to heaven. A powerful spell was cast so that no light devine or otherwise could be seen through the cover of darkness. Not many in the land had the power to fight against this unholy evil. The six most powerful high priests and priestesses came together and attempted to punch a hole in the darkness. After months of trial and error they were finally able to cast a spell strong enough to punch a whole in the shield. However the whole was very, very small. With their first success down they tried five more times and again only punched through a small whole. It had become apparent that the power of humanity alone was not strong enough to completely break their way through.

God saw his children fighting back against those of Lucifer and his legion. He sent six of the seven archangels to bestow the six priests and priestesses with divine powers to continue the fight for humanity and to bring back the light. Each of the newly imbued humans had their already strong powers amplified. They donned new names and sought to fight back, saving those who were tyrannized by the demons. The world would now know them as Knights of the Hood.

Mentis became the leader of the group, he has the power of telekinesis, he could move things with his mind. It was once said he lifted an entire mountain to crush demons. He was so careful with this power he could pick up a single grain of rice. Mentis had another ability called telepathy. He could read people’s minds and project his thoughts onto others. He also had the power of foresight. He could see into the future. He could only see a few minutes into the future but that still made it very difficult to land a hit or surprise attack on him. He could see further if he meditated, then only then could he see into the very distant future.

The next knight took on the name Terra, she is what we now know as mother nature. She can communicate with animals big or small. Terra could control the growth of and manipulate the plants she grew. That was very helpful in entrapping enemies for questioning. It was said that her vines were unbreakable even to the strongest of Demons. One of her biggest and most important powers was the fact that she could control the weather. It didn’t matter if she wanted to stop it from raining or create a giant tsunami she could do it. Her powers really helped whenever there was a drought.

The third knight was known as Evoco. Evoco had the ability to summon or conjure anything he saw fit. He could also make illusions, or physical constructs. Evoco was very popular around the kids. Whenever he made his illusions or constructs they always were able to bring joy to their faces. This power also allowed him to shapeshift or cloak himself to look and even sound like anyone he chose. His illusions didn’t always work on everyone. Sometimes when he would conjure something a greenlight could be seen by some but not by others. The only ones who could see the greenlight were mediums of the world who could also see past the veil of life and death.

Ignis is the name of the fire wielder of the knights. Ignis has the ability to conjure and manipulate fire. She could use it to fly, shoot fireballs, and use it as both an offense and defense. Ignis like Evoco could make fire constructs after years of practice. She found a way for people to be able to interact with her constructs without being burned. One of her more impressive techniques was her fire armor. She is able to make fire armor to protect from damage and help her create new fire weapons. One thing everyone knew not to do was get Ignis angry. Ignis had a blaze state where she became the very flames she controlled. Within this state she’s able to control molten lava. With time just like before she trained so was also able to control molten lava without the need for her blaze state.

The fifth knight is where we get the idea of the grim reaper, his name is Sicarius. Sicarius has the ability to talk to and control the dead. Not just the dead. He also has the knowledge on all poisons whether it’s for humans or other supernatural creatures. During the war Sicarius was taken away from the rest of the knights. After he was captured, he killed some of the guards and used them to create an undead army to escape. The person doesn’t even have to be recently deceased as long as they are dead, Sicarius has control over them. This also includes the likes of vampires. He is among the few that can see the green light that Evoco emits when casting his spells. Sometimes this priest has been confused with a demon however when people see his robes their fear of him subsides.

The final knight is Lumen, she is the polar opposite of Sicarius, Instead of death her power revolves around light and Life. Similar to Sicarius, Lumen can also communicate with the dead and even talk to those in purgatory. Lumen also has the power of healing, whether it’s from her touch or her tears. Lumen can heal any wound and even help body parts grow back. The longer the body part has been gone the longer it takes to grow back. Lumen can also bring back the dead. However the person can only be dead for no more than 6 hours. After that time has lapsed that person’s soul would go to either heaven or hell.

Each one of the knights had a very interesting way of flying. Mentis would use his telekinesis to fly. Terra would use the winds to carry herself from place to place. Ignis would use her flames whether it was propelling her forward from just her feet or her entire bottom half was aflame. Evoco would always use whatever he chose, to give himself wings, to fly on a bird or even a chariot. Sicarius had jet black dove wings he used to fly, even though his powers seemed dark they still were empowered through divinity. Lumen’s wings were also dove-like, hers were as white as can be. When you saw the Knights of the Hood flying overhead, everyone knew they were safe.

Together these six priests and priestesses used their power to send Lucifer and his army back to hell where they belong. The combined power of God and humanity proved to be too strong for the demon army to defeat.. The human race was again able to return to a life with the power of God leading the way. The shield surrounding the earth was destroyed, The knights however, never let their guard down. They knew that one day Hell would try to reign over humanity again. So they created a fortress to keep watch over humanity. The Knights of the Hood created a code for them and future generations to follow.

Mentis had meditated to see what the future would hold. He saw that one day there will be something from hell that will be stronger than they or even future generations would ever become. He shared that vision with knights and they began to prepare what has yet to come.
