The Kind Witch of Halloween
La gentille sorcière d'Halloween

In a sleepy village lived an old woman named Aurora, a witch. She resided in a humble cottage on the edge of the forest, far from the townsfolk. The villagers feared her, believing her to be evil. They often saw her gathering herbs under the moonlight, muttering strange words.
On Halloween night, the villagers' fear escalated. They decorated their homes with carved pumpkins, donned frightening costumes, and huddled around a large fire in the square. As they exchanged spooky stories, a light flickered from Aurora's cottage.
"It's the witch!" one shrieked. "She'll cast a curse upon us!"
The villagers scattered in terror, leaving behind whimpering children. Aurora, however, approached the fire, carrying a basket overflowing with sweets.
"Don't be afraid," she chuckled kindly. "I'm not evil. I came to share some Halloween treats."
Initially, no one believed her. But when a curious child reached out and tried a piece of candy, his face lit up. "It's delicious!" he exclaimed.
Soon, all the children were crowding around, eagerly grabbing treats. Aurora thanked them and invited them inside her cottage to see that it wasn't scary as they thought.
Hesitantly, the children entered. Instead of a frightening lair, they found a cozy cottage filled with books and beautiful paintings. Aurora offered them warm tea and cookies, regaling them with wondrous tales from the forest.
That night, the villagers learned a valuable lesson: appearances can be deceiving. Aurora, whom they believed to be wicked, was actually a kind-hearted woman who loved to help others.
From that day on, the villagers no longer feared Aurora. They started visiting her regularly, listening to her captivating stories and learning about nature and magic.
Thus, Halloween, a night once filled with fear, transformed into a night of joy and friendship, all thanks to Aurora's gentle spirit.
