The Key in the Dust
locked chest in the corner.
By Gideon KiprutoPublished about a year ago • 1 min read
Emma knelt, sweeping her hand through the old attic’s dust. Her fingers brushed something cold—a small, rusted key. She had never seen it before, yet it felt strangely familiar. The key had a tag, one word scrawled: Remember.
Emma glanced at the ancient, locked chest in the corner. She hadn’t dared to open it, but tonight, the key’s cool weight felt like destiny. She inserted it, heart pounding, and the lock clicked open. Inside lay a letter. Her own handwriting stared back at her, though she couldn’t remember writing it.
