I go to work, I go home, I sleep. Every day it’s the same boring routine. I was working on a project for the government. They needed me to finish it soon, we would all be leaving for a new place and if we planned on staying, the current inhabitants had to go. Why bother getting close enough to the natives for them to defend themselves with weapons when we can just send a few germs, the government said. Months went by, finally all of the genetically engineered diseases were ready. It was now time to leave for Earth.

I’m Bob. I hated working here, hidden away in my little cubicle. I put my head on my desk for just a minute and I was already asleep. In my dream, they promoted me to manager, then CEO. I walked into the office and fired my old supervisor and laughed as he left. Then I made the whole week casual Friday and let everyone wear whatever they wanted. My workplace crush asked me out. My supervisor came and woke me up. “Time to work,” he said. I wish I really could fire him. At least I can retire one day.

Wild Card Weekend Recap: What Happens Now?
I think I figured out why I love Wild Card Weekend so much. It's because it's the first playoff anything of the calendar year. The NFL season starts in the fall, and once upon a time, the champion was crowned either on or slightly before New Year's. The evolution of the NFL schedule has resulted in the playoffs starting just into the New Year, and currently, the final week of the season falls on the first weekend of the New Year, with Wild Card Weekend coming a week after that. So yes, chronologically, the NFL's Wild Card Weekend serves as the first playoff anything of the calendar year.
