"The Forest's Center"

Emily did not think magic existed. She had been raised in a world of obligations, deadlines, and timetables. She was an accountant who valued facts over fiction and statistics over stories. But the day she fell into the forest, everything was different.

Emily made the decision to take a vacation from her busy life on a normal fall afternoon. She wanted some fresh air and some quiet time. She then drove to the closest park and followed a meandering path. The tranquility of the woodland was unlike the bustle of her everyday life. The only sound was the rustle of leaves underneath.

However, something changed as she ventured more into the forest. The trees themselves seemed to be alive, whispering secrets that were just out of grasp, and the air seemed to be charged with electricity. Emily gave a headshake. She was acting foolishly, allowing her fantasies to rule her. Nevertheless, she felt a pull, an unseen thread drawing her farther into the trees.

Emily lost her sense of time, and minutes became hours. She continued walking until the trees were thicker and the trail became more constrained, looping and turning in strange ways. However, as she continued to walk, everything became increasingly familiar, as though she had already traveled this exact route—albeit only in a dream.

She finally reached a clearing where the forest floor was bathed in a golden glow as the sun peaked through the canopy. An old oak tree stood in the middle of the area. Like arms reaching toward the skies, its branches extended toward the sky from a broad, twisted trunk.

The tree felt... odd in some way. There was an unmistakable feeling of amazement and awe that she was unable to identify. Emily came closer and saw a tiny wooden door at the tree's base, almost visible through the tangled roots.

She was overcome by curiosity. She knelt, brushed the leaves from her knees, and touched the door gently. It opened with a creak, as though it had been waiting for her, much to her amazement.

The air within was warm and scented with dirt and another perfume she could not quite place. Despite being little, the area beyond the door seemed vast, like a secret planet. The walls were adorned with shelves that held old books and odd objects. A teapot and two cups were placed on a small table in the middle of the room.

Before Emily could comprehend what she was witnessing, a woman with silver hair and a kind grin appeared out of the darkness. Her eyes gleamed like stars, and she was dressed in a flowing gown of vines and leaves.

The woman's voice was musical and sweet as she remarked, "You have finally discovered it." "The Forest's Heart."

Emily started to say something, but nothing came out. She experienced a wave of feelings, including bewilderment, awe, and an odd feeling of acceptance. What had brought her here?

The woman grinned once again. Few people manage to find their way here. It serves as a healing and rediscovering haven for people in greatest need. It is a spot you will always remember, Emily.

“Remember?” Emily's voice was hardly more than a whisper. "Do you recall what?"

The woman approached her and touched her shoulder. "Remember your true self. Before the pressure, before the interminable figures, before the demands. Like the wonder in this forest, there is magic within you. However, you have lost the ability to hear and feel it.

With her heart racing, Emily stepped back. "I do not get it."

The woman said softly, "You do not have to." Simply have faith. Emily, you have lost your sense of self. And that is all right. Sometimes, we all do. However, you can rediscover what you have forgotten right here and now.

After filling one of the cups with tea, the woman gave it to Emily. "Drink and let the magic to happen."

Emily reluctantly accepted the cup. The heated liquid tasted earthy and thick, with a touch of sweetness. She experienced a wave of relaxation as she sipped, a profound sense of peace sinking in her chest. For a brief instant, it seemed as though the world's burden had been removed.

Emily said, "Thank you," in a firm voice. "I believe I comprehend."

With compassionate eyes, the woman nodded. “Remember this sensation when you depart from here. Keep it with you. You will always find the forest here, waiting for you. When you remember to listen, you will too.

Emily felt different as she got up to go—lighter, more liberated, as if the parts of herself she had lost were gradually returning. The sunlight was still shimmering on the leaves when she stepped out of the tree and into the woodland. She was aware that this was a moment she would always remember.

And she would recall the magic the next time she felt overburdened, the next time life seemed too much to handle. She had always had the power within her.
