The first part, "Miao Village Witch Ancestors," Chapter One, Section Two
Five brave warriors battle against bizarre monsters

Once this was said, Shen Yuan Chao's hair stood on end, and he felt a shiver run through his body. Following Zhang Zhu's pointing finger, he noticed that the package, wrapped up like a rice dumpling, had changed. The center of the package began to tremble like ripples in water, and the frequency and amplitude of the tremors increased rapidly.
Damn it, not again. Shen Yuan Chao didn't have time to heed the platoon leader's instructions to safely transport the strange corpse to Beijing. He clenched his teeth and immediately pulled out a Type 54 pistol (the only one assigned for unforeseen events during transport) from his belt and aimed it at the creature's head without hesitation.
Seven shots were fired in an instant, and the package stopped moving. Shen Yuan Chao hadn't even relaxed when Zhang Zhu shouted, "Captain, it's moving again."
I've seen it! This time, the package trembled even more violently, and it seemed like whatever was inside couldn't wait to get out.
"Yuan Chao, what's inside?" The sudden gunshot had startled the other soldiers in the compartment. Judging by Shen Yuan Chao's grim expression, it seemed he was terrified of whatever was inside the package.
Shen Yuan Chao collected the empty pistol and began searching the compartment for something useful. "You guys were asking me what I shot at yesterday, right? Well, it's in that bag now! I don't know if it's a ghost, but it's definitely not human! It's what killed Li Mao Cai with one bite. Damn it, it didn't die even after over a hundred shots! Don't just stand there; if it comes out of that bag, none of us will be able to run!"
"It's the Xianren Banban! Why didn't you say so earlier?" Platoon leader Jiang Zi Da reacted the quickest and, along with Zhang Zhu and two other soldiers, removed their equipment belts and used them to tie up the package from the outside.
This train carriage had been temporarily converted from a cargo carriage, and there were cleaning tools left in the corner. Shen Yuan Chao grabbed an iron shovel, shouted, "Clear out, all of you!" As Jiang Zi Da and the others moved away, he aimed the shovel at the creature's head with all his might, as if he wanted to cut it off.
However, the bag was holding something truly out of the ordinary, and it wasn't a "person."
With a "clang," the iron shovel pierced through the bag, and there was a resonating sound that could only come from metal-on-metal contact. The shovel was thrown up high.
This strike seemed to have an effect as the bag's trembling stopped. Before anyone could relax, there was a "bang." The four leather equipment belts tied to the bag were all torn apart, and the bag itself was torn to shreds. A creature, its skin burned to a crisp, sat up and stared at the people in the carriage with eyeless eyes. It was nearest to Zhang Zhu, who was so scared that he collapsed to the ground.
Zhang Zhu's reaction caught the creature's attention, and it stared at him, tilting its head curiously. Shen Yuan Chao had the iron shovel in his hand, still raised but hesitant to strike. Jiang Zi Da and the two soldiers dared not make any sudden movements. For a moment, the air in the carriage seemed to freeze.
Shen Yuan Chao felt that something was off about the creature but couldn't quite put his finger on it.
"Captain, it doesn't seem to have hostile intentions. Should we just leave it?" Zhang Zhu, terrified by the situation, turned to Shen Yuan Chao for help.
"Fine, you talk to it, and if it agrees, I have no objections." Shen Yuan Chao genuinely didn't know what to do.
With a bitter expression, Zhang Zhu said, "Captain..." Before he could finish his sentence, the creature suddenly moved. It lunged forward, revealing rows of jagged teeth, and bit down on Zhang Zhu's neck. Zhang Zhu couldn't react in time and was bitten hard.
"Damn it! Open your filthy mouth!" Shen Yuan Chao shouted and swung the iron shovel at the creature's neck four or five times, creating sparks with each strike. Jiang Zi Da had no weapon, but he didn't hold back either, lifting a long chair and smashing it at the creature.
The shovel strikes and the chair smashing had no effect whatsoever. The creature bit off Zhang Zhu's artery, and blood gushed out of its mouth like a waterfall. The creature's throat moved up and down, and Zhang Zhu struggled for a moment before falling limp.
It's drinking blood! Shen Yuan Chao realized it, and he noticed the difference between the creature now and the one from yesterday: its burnt skin on the chest and limbs had started to regrow flesh, and even its face, which had been reduced to a bare bone, now had a thin layer of flesh. A thought flashed through Shen Yuan Chao's mind: this bastard was probably using bloodsucking as a form of healing.
The two soldiers next to Jiang Zi Da were already in a state of shock, standing frozen in place. Shen Yuan Chao had some experience from the previous encounter. With just a few people and an iron shovel, they couldn't possibly handle this creature. Not to mention that he had to avenge Li Mao Cai and Zhang Zhu. With this in mind, he grabbed Jiang Zi Da and shouted, "Open the carriage door! Let's jump!"
