“Here! Zurich’s best cafe,” Gregor bellowed through his wiry beard. Jacob couldn’t deny Zurich’s untouched and unharmed charm as they tucked into a corner parlor, away from prying eyes.
“Arthur is a good man. He’ll get us killed, but he’s a good man.”
“Do we really need...”
“... it’s a long journey. Dinner won’t hurt,” Gregor said, shrugging. “The Reds won’t find it anyway. That traitor Boris has climbed higher than his head.”
“What’s the intrigue? Your letter didn’t say.”
“The door’s runic inscription promised treasures ‘more glorious than the Grail within,”
“Runes?”
“Norse runes,” Grigor grinned, devouring his bloody sausage.
