The coast was unmistakable, and the implication impossible.

Lines in stone, worn smooth by age, changed Jacob’s entire view of history.

Now that he examined it more closely, Jacob saw words interspersed between the lines: Jerusalem, Rome, the expected locations.

But off the coast of Nova Scotia, a single name was carved in Latin – Eden.

“Gregor, what does this say?” He pointed at the strangely familiar, fresher-looking script that continued below the Latin.

“It’s old Nordic. It roughly translates to, ‘Vinland. Where Erik sealed the Ark under the sword of Michael.”

Author’s Note

Welcome to A Microdose of Fiction, a series of genre fiction micro-stories that offer you an exclusive glimpse into expansive worlds. Every week, new installments and stand-alone adventures, all under 101 words, will transport you to far-flung worlds. I hope that these stories will provide entertainment while you eat your toast, and start your day on an adventurous note.

Make sure to check out the most recent releases of the current series, The Final Expedition and the Twilight of Ares, which will be pinned to my profile, and prepare to embark on a journey of imagination in bite-sized portions. Stay tuned for more exciting adventures to come!

I’ll be keeping these stories in the fiction community for now, but am already working on the next series which I’m debating moving over to Chapters. More to come.
